I think it's just having a respect for how much work they actually put into trying to buy into Mayo's vision (whatever the hell that was).

I wrestled with pulling the plug so quick most of the year it just kept getting worse though.

For me it was all the say one thing on Sunday, walk it back on Monday. From his first press conference to just about every single game this season. It was actually comical.

Excellent point. It might not seem like a big deal on the surface but fans have long memories for that kind of thing. It's part of Mayo's lenient "culture change" that backfired.

I am thrilled it happened today, no need to sweat out tomorrow. It's nice going to bed knowing the team is on its way to being professional and competitive again. It has been a long three years actually, not just one.

Reiss DEFINITELY knew Mayo was fired. He kept hinting at it and wouldn't just come out with it.

That's my issue with the Patriots media. They're all buddy buddy and no one is doing any real digging.

Goodie's probably already got a script for docking the Pats next several 1st round picks if Gruden comes in.

They should give Flores a sham interview. He wouldn't mind.
