Do you think the Pats should take a WR or OT in R1

Why was this an 'or" question? Why not 'and' since the trade down option is currently viable? Just curious, wouldn't have changed my vote.
In spite of the fact that it was probaby 2 guys, I voted RLKAG. If this were a ranked choice scenario it would have been good to have that 'and' option though...
The trade is the play at #1. At #4 or #5 I am prob OT.

If they are at 4, it’s gotta be a lineman. Either the LSU LT or the stud Michigan DT, Mason Graham.
I want OL. If they take Will Campbell at 4, it's probably an overdraft a bit, but I'd rather do that than lose out on him, if they determine he's the guy. Lots to watch going forward, senior bowl and combine, with pro days. I am very interested on how Campbell and Kelvin Banks do from now until April. If the new regime finds they want to take a different guy, then maybe they can trade back a little bit and add some value.

Rod Rust Mayo really screwed 'em today.

IF they're going to take an OL and the value at 4 isn't there, why not trade back closer to 10(if possible) and pick up a couple more chances to add? They'll likely still get one of the top 2 OL around 10 anyway. We need ALL the picks we can get.

Losing the number 1overall pick hurts because it was a clear opportunity to trade it for more capital for a team with holes everywhere. I was never in on Hunter at 1.

You need to find an impact player at 4, even better at a position of need. Carter, Banks, Campbell, Graham are probably the options, especially if you want to focus on the line.

Campbell and Banks will be top 10 picks IF their arm length and other measurements meet the criteria of the drafting teams for OT. Their on field performance numbers, especially Campbell’s, are outstanding. If their measurements are below average I expect both of them to go in the first round but the risk factor for them goes way up IMHO and I would not want the Pats taking them even with a trade don. If their measurements fit the bill I’d take either of them, but especially Campbell, at #4.

Year in, year out, there are always 4 - 6 OT prospects taken in the first round. The 2024 first round had 6 (not counting Barton who played OT in college but is unlikely to play there in the NFL). For that reason I am predicting that Simmons. Ersery, and Milum will also go in the first round this year. My hope is that if they don’t take OT at #4, they trade either down or better yet up to take Simmons or Ersery. As of now I’d consider Milum in the 2nd round but am not expecting him to be there.

Regarding WR, assuming Hunter is gone by #4, I would think McMillen is the only guy who could have the requisite talent to merit being picked there. I will be just as curious about his numbers as I am about the. Campbell and Banks numbers. I’d take Hunter without hesitation at #4.

I like Graham, Johnson, and Carter, in that order, at #4 if Hunter is gone and the measurements aren’t great for the two OTs and Tet. I still may want Tet over any of those guys even if he presents as Drake London 2.0 rather than Mike Evans 2.0.

I’d also be thrilled with a trade down this year if it netted them a currently very good player, a pick no worse than 15 - 20, a first round pick in 2026. and another Day 2 pick this year.

In a vacuum, trading back to 10ish and getting Campbell or Banks makes a ton of sense. However... There's 32 teams and someone is going to be in love with one or multiple someones will be in love with both. I agree with you the combine, pro days and senior bowl will help a ton rounding out all the prospects. Trading back to 6-10 makes sense if thy say they want Campbell, Banks, Tet, Carter, Graham and they think the two QBs are going 1-2. There's some noise that Sanders doesn't have a R1 grade by some scouts. So that throws everything off, and all the other prospects move up in the draft if he's dropping. To me, staying at #4 and taking either Banks or Campbell makes the most sense today, but that can change with more data to come.

They should go BPA with a nod towards positional value. OT is the biggest need, followed by edge and wr imo.

Im hoping that they do work to improve those positions in free agency/via trade before the draft.

Honestly though I would prefer to see this be a draft where they positively address winning the line of scrimmage. They should really draft like 5-6 offensive and defensive lineman.

Says the guy named Power Run Revival.

Abdul Carter could be Micah Parsons good. He's the only pick if you stay at 4. Unless Hunter falls for some reason.
This draft has
1. Hunter
2. Carter
-Ends Blue Chip prospects
Next Tier:
Jeanty, Banks, Johnson, Graham, Starks, Campbell, Williams, T-Mac

I chose other based on the value of this year's draft class.

I believe the bigger need is LT but the guy I'm impressed by is valued as a early 2nd round at this time.

I am done with projecting WRs for this team as they fail us just about every year.

Target some TEs. Nesbit late day 3 would be great!

Given the way the top 5 looks I’m starting to think their best move would be to trade down to around 8-10, pick up a second round pick, take Tyler Warren with their first round pick, and then trade back into the first round for OT or WR. They could then still get a DT in the second. Round with their other second round pick.

Maye loves throwing to TE’s, and Warren could give him his Gronk.

I am really hoping that Allar ends up declaring and gets top 3 hype, so at #4 is the first non QB and someone desperately wants one of the guys.

More and more often in mock draft simulators I can see Milroe taken #3 by Giants. It cannot believe it.

I don't see Tarvis Hunter getting pass Number 2 but Tenn - Cleveland and the NY Giants all need QB's.

He sucks I'm sorry they might as well Trade for Joe Milton: Milroe's College end was pathetic if you ask me. He's far from Lamar Jackson if you ask me it's not even close.

I like the Trade down talk if can get this guy I think he will test very well. OT Aireontay Ersery 6-6 325 Minnesota.

I agree, therefore I am surprised some people even consider him being taken so high.
