Does anyone think there is a chance Mayo is one and done?

According to Wikipedia Chuck Fairbanks is the only coach to survive a 3 win or less season in the history of the NEPs. Even then there had to be some extenuating circumstances to keep Fairbanks because the season came in the middle of his tenure and team went 11-3 the next season. Time for RKK to act like a HOF owner and make the hard decisions necessary to get the team back on track.

Apparently Jahlani Tavai did an interview on WEEI this morning and he was asked about fans booing. Apparently he said he doesn’t like it and that “fans need to know their place.”

If you're a restaurant chef that sends out chicken that's all pink inside, when a customer complains, just tell them to know their place.

That being said, I think this is another case of "some of the things, the way he said it, isn’t what he meant." Man, I'd hate to speak to the media when I'm pissed off. I already sound like a moron sometimes when I'm firing on all cylinders. When I had to schmooze with/in front of large audiences (up to low thousands) without preparation, it was sometimes a poop show. In retrospect, I should've been on Whiskey.

Need to practice your "Snort. Grunt." technique. There was a reason for that. Kept him from saying what was actually on his mind.

I have a bad feeling that the Bills will be less motivated than even our U-Haul team.
And if this results in a useless win, it's going to be everything Kraft needs to justify the "end on a high note" garbage and just cheat our way to 4 wins - which doesn't make Mayo's brash statement look so bad.

I've been bracing for 2 months for the horrible news that Mayo is staying, and Vrabel will get hired somewhere else.
They'll try to appear like they're upgrading by firing a few position coaches. But if they don't hire a legit DC, it's all useless.
Mayo was the most unprepared and undeserving HC hire the NFL has seen in a long time.

Constant communication alright.

...and it kept the media from sometimes even asking questions.

If Mike Vrabel becomes the HC for the Jets and we still have Mayo, Kraft should sell the team.

I can’t believe the Krafts have no awareness that their team is a clown show. Fans don’t come to games anymore, their approval is at an all time low, they are booing the team, chanting to fire Mayo.

I don’t want to believe the Krafts think keeping Mayo will somehow excite people and put people into seats.

fire covington and hire a real personnel guy with experience as gm who can restructure and let wolfie interview. then give mayo and avp one year to improve with a real personnel dept or get himself fired and let the new gm clean house.

ps...is that the movie where they're running around venice thinking they see their dead daughter?
No.

NO!!!!

Just NO!!!!

Not another lost year of wandering the sidelines lost in that deer in the headlights look. Not another year of no adjustments, in games or between games. Not another year of ridiculous press conferences followed by more ridiculous walk backs. Not another year of the entire roster regressing every week.

None of those have anything to do with the personnel dept. all of those have everything to do with incompetence as a coach.

He's their best coach, and I think he'd be fine with a new HC calling the plays. He's done a great job with Maye, and the only coach I would keep for continuity. I'd hate to have Maye learn a new offense in year two.
Saying AVP is their best coach is saying he’s best of a bad lot. True, but not good enough.

I’ve said I’d be fine with keeping him as QB coach. Not as OC. The only thing he’s done well is develop Maye. While failing in every other aspect of the OC job.

Doubt. Given what he's done with Maye some other team that drafts a young QB will snap him up for OC. Remember Maye was considered raw and AVP had him playing like a pro (despite a terrible surrounding cast) in 6 weeks. And, if he does have to settle for QB coach, it won't be here amid this total dysfunction.
That’s ok too.

Even if Mayo is fired, I don't think it will be on Monday. The Krafts are usually slow with this stuff. They'd probably wait until Tuesday or Wednesday.
They need to move quick, especially if they want Vrabel. They have more time if they want Johnson or Brady. I think figuring out GM is priority number 1.
Is Wolf staying or going is first.
