That was a ballsy question to ask.

Patriots rookie quarterback Drake Maye is expected to start the season finale Sunday against the Bills.www.espn.com
If all bottom 4 teams win do we still have the number 1 pick?Playing Maye and getting injured could be an other RGIII situation.
Please, no.Playing Maye and getting injured could be an other RGIII situation.
Buffalo is starting AllenPlaying Maye and getting injured could be an other RGIII situation.
What does that have to do with Maye who’s had 2 concussions already in his career?Buffalo is starting Allen
He might want to have a consecutive games streak started, I mean you want to careful, but you can't treat these guys like they're baby chickens, he wants to play and the more he plays the better he should get. He's had 2 concussions? You counting last week as one? What does that have to do with Maye who’s had 2 concussions already in his career?
If Kraft decided to hire Mayo as his next HC during that Israel trip, he should have prepared him for that. He should have pushed him to take a DC job or other jobs in other organization to see different schemes and most importantly start to build his network.I think it was the experience of seeing coach after coach (Flores, Mangini, etc.) get plucked from the Patriots staff. Mayo was drawing interest from other teams and Kraft didn't want to lose another one, especially when he was seeing the end of Belichick coming soon. He saw leadership capabilities in Mayo and we know Mayo was sweet talking old Thundercat. So he wrote the succession plan into Mayo's contract to get him to stay. Mayo didn't leapfrog anyone, he had the promise in his contract first.
Bedard made a great point yesterday. Usually players are behind a first year HC during the 1st year. It’s the second year that is usually goes to sh*t if there is no improvement. One other thing I think about is all the excuse-making that is made for Mayo. “It was a year too soon”, “he’s still learning”, “the roster is bad!”, “he didn’t have enough help”… etc.
While we all focus on how silly some of this is regarding why you should not fire him, also consider how it will impact team culture. Mayo will get a free pass and all the excuses in the world, but then they will probably cut 50% or more of their 2024 roster next year. Players who are dumped will be left wondering “what if I was still learning, or it was a year too soon for me to hit my stride? What if I needed more coaching help? Where is my free pass?” When the coach gets a golden ticket but the players are treated as expendable, you will see some tension.
Exactly the Krafts have lost the fan base. Firing Mayo would be a first step to regaining the fans.I dont see a scenario where NE looks back in 3 years and regrets firing Mayo. No one will care that he was 1 and done. First step forward is losing a terrible woefully underwhelming first year coach. Whats the downside of just pulling that bandaid off.
…
It's a waste of time. Unless Mayo gets blown out in the last two games, gets in a fist fight with the players, and maybe ****s Jonathan Kraft's wife, he's getting at least the first half of next season.
I was thinking we get together and have a nice necklace delivered to her in Jerod’s name. Anybody know if his credit card is available on the dark web?Or we can just make it look like he was with Krafts wife.

Come on Patriots nation don’t give up the good fight.
That’s what the Bills plan on doing with Allen, to keep his league leading streak alive for consecutive starts. A few handoffs. A dump pass. Then Trubiansky takes over.I don't mind starting him but nor play the whole game. Let's see what Milton has.
I starting to like Mayo playing the starter on Sunday. If we can lose against the Bills backup with our starters it would be a disaster for Mayo and I’m up for that !Things we believe we know....
1) Mayo in job preservation mode
2) Kraft looking for any reason to demonstrate his handpicked boot licker is a marginally capable HC (vs a playoff bound team resting starters)
3) Lower draft pick slots cost Thunder less money
Wanting someone who is historically incompetent removed from a position is being honest and fair and demanding justice. There is nothing spoiled or impatient about it.All the fans are booing Mayo and wanting him gone.... why would he intentionally lose this game? All the spoiled, impatient fans will be the ones to blame if we win this last game.
None.My biggest concern with this regime is players have shot their way off the team and a few others have raised concerns,
What top free agent is going to land with Mayo.
Hard disagree. Good players want to play with other good players when it’s a good situation that produces wins and benefits for them. This isn’t such a situation. They know it’s toxic. They won’t come here just to keep Maye company in the toxicity.Players come for other players, not coaches. If Maye is good, they'll want to be here regardless of the coach.
Also who significant shot their way off the team under this regime? I mean the last regime we had Gronk, Brady, Gilmore all ditch and a few lineman take their free agency chances. But so far White is the only one making noise.
I’ll take it a step further not just win games but know how to lead and how to motivate.None.

All other players have to do is read what White and Brissett are saying. Brissett has been around, he’s known and has a great reputation in the league, so his comments are a big red flag to all the players that know him. There will be no line of free agents looking to come here until the coaching staff shows they know how to win games. They don’t.
