If AVP is gone.. the I believe TC McCartney should be elevated.. or the mystery man McAdoo. Covington has been worse than AVP if anyone should go it's Covington he's been in the organization and in the defense. Pathetic!
How do you blame Covington when it's Mayo's defense.

I mentioned previously Mayo, covington, pelligrino, Hightower, brian... all have been here... all have coached in the defense.. been part of the organization. It's an absolute failure the D looks like this.. they don't even look like NFL players outside of gonzo. It's pathetic.

I have 0 contact with college ball

still Ive heard of Hunter of course, but McMillan's size is such a weapon by itself.

Even being an outsider of the New England area, I think it's going to insuferable the amount of ideas to play Hunter both ways, which is just not feasible...

Could McMillan be available at the 5 or 6, if we trade down?

I'm no scout either but I think at this point in time it's a safe bet that one of the QBs and hunter will go if you want McMillan for sure I think 3 would be the spot. Once the process shakes out more we find that both QBs will go and that a DL or someone else might too.

Basically if you're dead set on someone then you can only make a very small trade down but the further down you go the bigger the haul.

Right now I'm firmly in the Hunter camp so I'm not expecting a big haul and would just the flip with whoever lands at 2. They take a Q we get Hunter and a little extra draft capital but no major haul.

Some historical perspective (posted last year but still useful):
This is scary:

New England Patriots to Dallas Cowboys

Player picked at No. 1: DT Russell Maryland

Patriots received: 1991 first-round pick (No. 11, T Pat Harlow), 1991 second-round pick (No. 41, DB Jerome Henderson) and three players (CB Ron Francis, LB David Howard, LB Eugene Lockhart Jr.)

Dallas received: 1991 No. 1 pick (Maryland)

So, the Patriots traded down and passed on Russell Maryland, Eric Turner, Todd Lyght, Eric Swann and Herman Moore, for 4 BUSTS!

Ugh!!!

Let's me lay it out for you Ivan....LT and WR in FA ie... Cam Robinson - Tee Higgins. In the Draft on a slight a Trade Down take either WR's Travis Hunter or Tetaroi McMillan. With that early Second Rounder take another swing Tackle with LT Potential one who could start @ RT his Rookie year ie... Josh Simmons I don't think he goes in the First take him at the Top of the Second. Simmons might be ready to practice by TC. Offense all set use the Rest of the Picks on Defense.

Agree on LT in free agency. Cam Robinson sucks, don’t go near him. Jackson or Noteboom would be nice.

Trade for Deebo 4th plus Bourne)

Trade down with the pick, take BPA with it. Hunter, Graham, Carter. Get a First in 26’ and a second this year and next year.

Trade back into the first for Ersery or Simmons.

Use 2nd on top remaining receiver or DT, maybe interior OL.

I care about developing players. If you want to throw the game, fine, but you have 53 players in the roster to get experience for while doing so.
Trust me...I get it...most of those players don't care about 'next year' because most players from a 3-12 team won't be here next year...so they will go all out for the win.

If RFK and the Patriots brain trust were honest with themselves, however, they would see how losing this game will be more beneficial.

After all, pretend it's Sunday afternoon already and the Pats just beat the Bills B squad? Do you feel good about this? Do you feel like more good was done than harm?

Would Nick Caley come back given a Big Pay raise?? We should have never let him go.
Why? What would make him a good candidate? I don’t see anything he has done to make him attractive

I understand that. But let’s separate throwing the game from there being benefit in having players not play.

People want say throw the game but instead are saying don’t risk injury or something like that.
The injury risk with no game to play for 9 months is non-existent.

If we make it obvious that we are throwing the game, like by sitting Maye for no reason, goodell will absolutely come after us.

To be clear..when I say trade down, I mean no further than 3 or 4 with a team in desperate need of a quarterback. I still want Hunter along with the extra assets. He’s too dynamic to pass up.
yup... look for a deal with the guys willing to pay for the privilege of moving up a slot or two so they don't get blanked on the guy they want...

The value of the #1 pick is greater than any player the Patriots could get there. I love the idea of Hunter more than a lot of people but I love the idea of 2-3 first round picks a lot more.

If this team fell into the #1 spot because they were dealing with injuries all year and were a game breaker player away I’d be all on board with Hunter. He could be the next Randy Moss, he could be the next Darrelle Revis and you still have a mountain of other positions to fill

Only JAX and CAR dont need a QB in the 7 picks following the Pats.

NE could theoretically trade down to the 2nd slot, and then trade down again.

I wonder what a trade from 1 to 2 would look like?

I hope SS and CW both show out in workouts to drum up interest.

Would love to have a CAR level return where the team we trade with ends up with the worst record in the league the following year. Thats the dream. Would allow us to trade down again next year and keep stacking picks.

do you think he is a Tyreek Hill talent?

Id love to have Hunter on this team. Bang for your buck. Quick twitch football loving freak.

Having multiple high draft picks in each round will build a team quicker. Getting picks from teams who struggle year in and year out really puts you in a great spot.

Put the beverage down. Step away from the table.

I cannot imagine that screaming clown in New England.
Talk about one extreme to the other… but yea, just say no to Deion.

I'm not saying sitting starters for fear of injury is the lone reason for the move, its more about seeing what we have in reserve. I don't see any reason to play Maye this week after he took yet another head shot last week, the last game is meaningless. I would not be surprised that the Bills having nothing to gain from the last game resting or limiting snaps for a lot of their starters and as a side benefit hosing us over on the draft.

Thing about playing backups for the sake of “seeing what you got” is that you should already know what you have by week 18…I’d go as far as knowing by week 8….I’m all for winning trust me but if they need to play starters for this reason, there’s other issues at play.
