Giants WON - we now have the #1 pick

I wasn't speaking solely of Mayo here. Do you think Drake Maye, or for that matter, anybody currently on the roster, wants to lose this game?
Yeah thats usually the issue that occurs. Just hope the coaches realize that winning doesn't help them at all. For sure nobody will remember this game if they lose, they most definitely will if they win.

You have a QB, then the 1st pick in the upcoming draft...you can't pass that up. That jump starts your build in a big, big way.

The Giants won - yahoo !
I believe we now have the #1 overall pick

Just hope Buffalo shows up to play next week

Hopefully they want Allen to get the MVP over Jackson & run up the score
Holy **** this is crazy! We've got the #1 overall pick!

We can NOT attempt to win on week 18. I don't care if Mayo's job is on the line, this is the future of the franchise. Do you have any idea what kind of HAUL we can get for the #1 overall pick!

Christmas came for the Patriots again!

Mayo will win a meaningless game vs the Bills 2nd and third stringers, pump his fist coming off the field, and mutter meaningless drivel about “culture” as the Pats drop to #4 and have no leverage to acquire more picks.
He BETTER NOT!

This #1 overall pick is our ticket to a true rebuild! We can get an absolute draft HAUL out of it!

Bills should be sitting their starters but so should Eagles (if Lions win Monday) and Texans vs the Giants and Titans.
Of course this leaves the lowly Browns losing to Ravens.

Does leave a scenario where we win and get the #2 pick.

Lions winning Monday night is crucial to SOS vs Jags and having the Eagles rest starters.

Actually, next week might be a great time to finally start Joe Milton III. Just saying...

Good Lord - if we win and lose out on the #1 pick, you don’t suppose they’ll give Mayo another Gatorade Shower??

Tell Mayo to sit Maye, and that he won’t be fired by them on Monday. Hire a GM (someone available - Thomas Dimitroff?) and then let the GM fire Mayo/“kick him upstairs” after a couple weeks.

Yes. Do this!!

Let’s hope Josh Allen wants that MVP really bad and just utterly dominates NE for 400 yards while the Pats players are more concerned with their vacation plans immediately after the game.
Considering the Bills have a playoff game the following week I’d be surprised if he played.

They will want to keep him sharp though. I expect Josh Allen will play the first half and sit out the second half regardless of the score.

There have been plenty of times in the past where the #1 team did NOT need a QB and that made the pick a lot less valuable.

You need to believe that a team wants to jump the Giants to take Cam Ward.

I don't see that happening.

This is not the season to have the #1 pick.

Still a whole week to play....by my calculations...6 teams with 3-4 wins can still possibly leap frog us in the draft order. There are 9 teams with 3-4 wins...and two of those are the Jets and Jags...who both have 4 conference wins already (we have 2)...and they both beat us at least once as well.

The only teams that can leap the Pats at this point are the Giants, Titans, and Browns. The Pats have the SOS tiebreaker with every team with three or four wins. Maybe the Jags will have a better SOS than the Pats for the tiebreaker after next week because they are so close.

Could be, I’ve seen coaches handle it both ways. Bills fans will hold their breath every time he runs.

Josh scores 28 points in the first half then puts his feet up for second half. Pats will never score 28.

If the Patriots win they'll be picking 4.

No way titans beat Houston or the browns beat the Ravens or the Giants beat the eagles.

They have to lose.

Why can't the Titans, Browns, or Giants win? I think the playoff positions will be locked for at least the Ravens and Eagles. They are just as likely to sit players as the Bills are. Plus, the Eagles may be down to their third string QB.

Would it surprise you if Wolf retuns, trades the #1 pick down a few slots only for the guy they wanted to be taken?
At this point, nothing would surprise me. I do know that I do NOT want Travis Hunter (I guess I'm in the minority in that regard). Egbuka could end up being a better WR, and Will Johnson is already a better CB.

Whether the desired prize is Shedeur Sanders or Cam Ward there will be a team who will want to take the #1 QB overall. This I believe, the only question is how attractive a package can you pry out of that team. Hopefully we get a bidding war situation so the offers keep getting better.

Your over thinking it. If team with 2nd or third pick wants QB we get a haul by any team willing to go get that QB instead.

I don't get the absolute love for Hunter either. I am not a college expert. But his hype is exceeding what he likely can do at the NFL level. And the Pats do not need to draft a CB at the top of the draft. Gonzalez with a real defense around him might be an All Pro caliber CB.
