NFL GAME DAY DISCUSSION 2024 Week 16 NFL Games

When did Bo Nix play well? I feel bad for Broncos fans, Herbert and Mahomes vs Nix is going to be a huge mismatch for years.

Nix had 30 easy passes (meaning guy was open by 3 yards or more) and still missed 4 of those including a TD long pass he underthrew by 10 yards. He continually took check downs when guys were open down field.

He had 9 plays where he saw pressure and completed 2 passes, 1 of those was a 3rd down dump off that led to a punt. The other completion he created his own pressure by running into it and then almost threw a pick on a pass that was 3rd down and short of the first anyways. Basically, if you got any pressure and he couldn't run he couldn't complete a meaningful ball.

Otherwise, he had all day to throw and still took the dump off. Not to mention the 6 screen passes and multiple swing passes. One swing pass went for 56 yards. He had a couple batted balls as well.

Bo Nix made zero throws you would say an NFL caliber QB has to make to show he's a top 15 NFL starting QB.

If it was past 5 yards in the air, he was more likely to short hop it or under throw or throw behind the receiver.

Bo Nix was not good last night.
If the Pats had Nix as the future QB I'd give up on the team as there would be no hope. He's not good.
So you really really like Nix?

Notice how WR was PAST the sticks?

Just saying

Do the Chiefs play all their games at home? Sure feels like it.

If Houston wins this game, Buffalo might be in play for the No. 1 seed with the Cheeves closing out at Steelers and at Broncos.

ROFL fumble overturned, and a BS roughing the passer call.

NFL isn't slanted towards the Chiefs huh?

AAAAND another bail out call for KC.

I really don't want to hear about Mahomes playing hurt. At this point no one is 100% and I've always believed if you are healthy enough to play you shouldn't use health as an excuse. Rarely have I seen a guy play injured and felt it should be an excuse... usually when that is the case they are so ineffective they shouldn't be playing at all.

Like Gronk in superbowl. He was activated mostly as a distraction and for his blocking, which he could still do well enough. So that is kind of a different thing as it is one spot where a player can have 2 legit different jobs where just doing one well can have value.

Unfortunately , no team can leave KC with a win. Too many borderline penalties called against the visitors .

Yep any extremely borderline call goes KCs way. That is the only reason they have 3 SB wins period. They are the biggest fraud team I have seen in a long time, outside of Mannings Colts.

It makes for more entertaining games though, you can have a little side game of watching how his limp always gets worse after an incomplete pass

If you're playing there's no excuse

This entire drive is aided by penalties against Houston. How can teams hope to compete on a level playing field. ?

Grateful to the Bills for shutting down that undefeated nonsense. Chiefs are nowhere near that level, sorry

I hate to talk about stuff like this. As it is often seen as such an excuse, but there is a slight edge for KC in both calls and luck. KC seems to get more free plays than any team in the NFL, when others teams are called dead. Also they do have a lot of opportune penalties, but some of that is just good teams forcing mistakes. One thing that is interesting is how lucky they are. KC is shown through various metrics as having been one of the luckiest teams if not the luckiest recorded stretch in NFL history in the past 5-6 years since these things have been closely recorded (so really the past 15 or so i think).

Also health wise they've been fairly lucky with their star players. Doesn't mean they haven't been the best team in the NFL in that stretch, and don't deserve to be considered dynasty caliber, but just look at this year alone. 13-1 with a fairly paper thin point differential for such a record, and the fact the ball has bounced their way along with key plays has kind of been par for the course for them during this run. Not trying to take anything away from them. But since the first 3 really dominate Mahomes years, the last 3 haven't seen the fall off we would expect.

ROFL they just called a phantom OPI penalty on the Texans.

Can't make this **** up.

They haven't fallen off because they have the league helping them out. They are a very average team in any metric yet are 13-1. They shouldn't even be sniffing a playoff spot right now.

The league is squeezing whatever it can out of the Chiefs until they aren't useful anymore. And that is when Mahomes has 7 SB titles at worst.
