Real talk if we beat Buff? Do we do a complete 180 from one game?

If they somehow beat Buffalo I would certainly be looking at the team differently because that would mean they elevated from being probably the worst team in the league all the way up to being able to knock off one of the best (maybe THE best) team in the league, in their house, on national TV.

So yeah I would probably be re-thinking my opinion because that’s a pretty huge change in performance.

And another thing about Mayo: everyone talks about his time working for Optum as though it's some kind of badge of honor. Well, this is the company that oversees mental health benefits for United HealthCare. They just axed benefits for autistic kids. I'm not saying people shouldn't work there but I don't see the point in touting someone's experience there.

Would love to play devils advocate.. so I’ll start off by saying one year isn’t long enough. It’s a horrible look on the organization AND especially on King Kraft. The injuries to Andrews Bently and Barimore were pretty big for a team that wasn’t very good to start off with. The oline play was inexcusable. Scott peters and Rob Kugler fired. If van pelt is fired , then obviously there will be a complete offensive overhaul. Probly meaning house is cleaned. On the defensive side Covington looks more shell shocked than Mayo does at times !! Can someone tell me what Hightower has done? Going out on a limb here… just cause you can teach something , doesn’t mean you can do it ( alla Belichick) … and adversely just because you can do it , doesn’t mean you can teach it ( alla Hightower) … our linebackers were atrocious this year. Almost seemed like every play out of position. Or are they all so slow ?? It does seem to me as well that having this big of a coaching staff is redundant. There’s almost assistants to the assistants. Cut it back. Mayo had to learn to delegate better. There are 4 strength and conditioning coaches … and we had all these injuries ? If you **** can Mayo, all of these spots will need to be filled. A combination of mish mash from across the league or unknowns. I’d stick with the 70% of the staff. Tinker , fire, upgrade. Draft two tackles high, bring in a better oline coach. Bring in veteran free agents on the defensive side of the ball , especially linebackers. Solidify the team with some high character veteran guys. Maye is gonna be a good one. Absolutely all effort needs to be spent on his posse of protection. This team is not ready for any kind of playoff talk. We years away. Build it right. Let’s not start firing coaches every 3-4 weeks … let’s not become the Jets
No one said we would have to read a book. If you can't fit your thoughts into 90 words or less, you don't belong here. Show yourself out, Ian wants nothing to do with your old-fashioned ways.

They wouldn’t have made any difference just like last year when they went 4-13.
Can someone tell me what Hightower has done?
The same was asked when Mayo was coaching them, so this shouldn’t be a surprise.

They have been bad for many years and historically slow.

A lot of excuses and a lot of accommodations for a staff has shown nothing to deserve it.

The fanbase wanting to fire Mayo doesn’t mean we’re becoming the Jets. It means fans realize the circumstance of how Mayo got hired was total BS, and since then he has done nothing to change anyone’s mind. Let me ask you, name me ONE thing he’s done that has earned him the grace you’re affording him?

People keep pointing to not wanting to be “one of those organizations”. Well guess what, we are that right now, and if they keep going with this clownshow, we’ll stuck there.

Conspiracy theory time.

What if the Krafts decided this week already that they DON’T want Mayo back, BUT they want to make it look like their hands were kind of forced into moving on from him, as opposed to them just deciding it themselves. So they talked to the networks and the league and finagled to get the Pats in the national 4:25p slot this week, and also to get the Chargers game moved to Saturday as a national game too. This gets a lot more eyes on their ****ty team. They also started putting reports in the media that changed from “we definitely aren’t moving on” to “we really don’t want to move on, BUT if things don’t go well down the stretch, maybe that changes”.

So they force the nation to watch them be bad, which increases outcry to fire Mayo, and then Bob gets to say “well the fans were so passionate about this and wanted Vrabel, I had to do right by our fans” as opposed to “I ****ed up by hiring a completely unqualified loser”.

Thanks for coming to my TED Talk

The 2023 Patriots beat Buffalo. Tbh I bad team stealing one off a divisional rival is not some crazy thing. It wouldn't change much about how I feel.

I sincerely doubt a network accepted having the crappy Pats on tv over a bigger game for Kraft to frame a narrative.

There wasn’t really a bigger game though

But that's likely the reason it got flexed. Not to appease Kraft
Could be - but perhaps Kraft greased the wheels a bit to push it towards that outcome. This move and the Chargers game being moved to Saturday, both featuring the Patriots, at basically the same time, seems suspect.

The "I like Mayo" people are astounding. What has he done to garner any good favor? Can his ass yesterday and ****ing kraft never should have hired him. I maintain the ONLY reason Krafty Bob hired this clown was to score points with a certain cadre of 1%ers in this country and the NFL that determine his standing in the pantheon of owners and his HOF credentials. Kraft Out

We’re stuck with him for another year. This is outrageous. In an era where offensive coaches and qb tandems is the way to go. Sometimes we overthink things and hurt ourselves. Kraft is doing that now.
