This statement alone says Covington should be fired

Stop with this woke dei nonsense, it just exposes you.

Mayo seemed like a good candidate to coach. That is it. Kraft is old and did not want to do the work to bring in a whole new coaching staff.

The number of people who suffer from brain rot are too many.
Exposes him as what? Having insight?

Mayo had zero HC qualifications when he was hired, and the decision to make him the replacement happened before he ever coached a day at any level.

Go back and read what you said then read what he said. You said "He ranted about teaching the fundamentals “every day” and then said he’s proud of the guys for showing up to work every day." That's not what he said. He said "And I'm proud of the way the guys show up to work every day. And you guys should be proud of those guys they way they show up to work every day." The Way they show up. He did not say he was proud of them showing up every day.
That’s the same thing.

The Patriots’ defense ranked first in EPA (expected points added) per play during Steve Belichick’s tenure as play-caller from 2019 to 2023. They’re currently 30th this season.

“Yeah, I would say every year is different. Every defense is different. So that’s kind of how I look at it. Like I wouldn’t read too much into it,” Covington said. “So for us, we’re just trying to do the best we can every week, us as a coaching staff, us as the players, and I think those guys are working hard and trying to do what we ask them to do. So, I look at each year being different. So, like what you did last year, what we did previous years, every year is different. So that’s kind of how I look at it.”

Seriously? Don’t read too much into being bad on the field? Like that doesn’t matter? Who TF would say that wings any drive to be great?
I wouldn't worry to much about what soon to be former DC covington has to say. The writing is on the wall for this staff...

I am confident that at least 3/4 if not all 4 of Wolf, AVP, Mayo and Covington are going to be brought back despite overwhelming evidence that all 4 should be fired the day the season ends.
I think that Kraft would rather lose that admit he was wrong. And I think he will bring them back knowing the team will suck and will sit on a big pile of cap money again.

Mayo could say we knew we were going to be terrible this year sober just hoped to get through it and 3 wins is pretty good consideration that. And Kraft wouldn’t fire him. That is my fear. I hope I am wrong. But I expect we wil be sitting right about where we are today in a year.

That doesn't mean he got it because of his race and because Kraft wanted to fill a checkbox. Across every business someone gets the favor of their boss and gets hotracked to bigger roles. Happens all the time.

Making this race thing just screams people wanting to shove their political takes into this. Like am I supposed to assume that if Mayo wasn't the Optum run, the Israel trip, being friendly with Thunder was all going to not equal the same outcome?

It's stupid and does more to hurt the argument against Mayo and makes it about something else.

It doesn’t mean that wasn’t the reason. When race was one of the primary topics of the announcement press conference, it tilts the probability in the direction that it was.

Well we live in a country that is trying to push DEI. Burying your head in the sand about it because it’s uncomfortable doesn’t make it go away.

Believing that what many people and many parts of our government are pushing for is actually happening and that when the press conference announcing the hiring was heavily about race, does not expose one as a racist.

Are we supposed to be proud because they show up driving nice cars?

Rather than continuing to repeat yourself maybe you can try to explain what you think the difference is.

Direct from the horse's mouth...............

“I appreciate that the organization selected me to be a Black head coach,” Mayo said.

So you honestly think if everything else was true but Mayo was a white guy that he would not be the HC? That's really the argument you want to go with?

And the guy who made the hiring decision said he didn't see color. So Mayo being proud that he's a black HC which isn't as common in the NFL and the first for the team isn't saying that's why he got hired.

There's so many reasons to criticize Mayo beyond his skin color. Especially when his hiring literally meant we got to circumvent the Rooney Rule

Don’t forget the quote where he told the reporters to be thankful and proud that the players showed up to work

As a labor activist, this can be true and it somehow be a poorly timed comment. Very few situations where I'd say "hey just uh, let's save that for when we're grabbing beers", yet this is one of them.

Dude... smh.
WTH kind of question is that? It's Andy. He'll go with any argument at any time. And whichever side he takes will invariably and inevitably be declared victorious. If you're honest with yourself, you already know the outcome
