I predict the Bills will have a letdown game, Pats will be up for the game, Bills wake up in second half, win going away 30-13. Pats fans, drunk with a successful one half of football will shout, "we're on our way".

You’ve got to be thinking of somebody else. Caleb Jones’ NFL career consists of one snap on the field goal team.

Caleb Jones who has starter experience and has demonstrated to all just how good he is.

NO TEAM wants him. NO TEAM has wanted this quality starter for even 3 weeks, even a emergency patch for an injury.

Sure, let him compete for a Practice team spot and the #4 OT position in camp, but make no mistake, we really need to add 3 OT's much better than Caleb Jones.

My point is if you think that OT is an absolute MUST in the first round, then you HAVE to trade down and watch someone pick one of the impact defensive players or a QB, DT, Edge or WR. There are some very interesting OTs that will be available in the 2nd and 3rd rounds. But they come with even greater risks. Bottom line I wouldn't be happy if we drafted an OT at #3.

It looks like the Patriots will be in the #3 or #4 slot after week 14. It really depends on what they can get for that selection whether they risk watching their top rated OL get picked by another team. There are a bunch of teams in need of OL help.

We are going to learn a lot about Eliot Wolfe and the front office in the new year. The Green Bay Packers have a selected an offensive or defensive lineman 10 times in the past 15 years. The exceptions being Jordan Love at QB, two safeties, and two linebackers.

If the organization decides to make HC changes I wonder if Wolf goes as well?? I see us moving around in the draft to collect picks becuase we have so many needs all over the roster.

Wolf is going nowhere at least until after the first few weeks of free agency. Of course, Kraft might hire a GM in January who would make all final decisions and provide direction and leadership in the free agent process.

Folks ignore the enormous amount of work to do, starting with detailed folders on all potential free agents (and on a few trade targets). As we come close to free agency, a list of targets and priorities (e.g. who are the best LT's and how many do we want?). In the scrum the week before and the week after the season starts, there needs to be negotiations with lots and lots of players.

A GM could bring in his own staff, but he will need to use a lot of what is already done and what will be done until he is hired and has hired at least some of his people.

Great points. So wolf is likely in place for "now".. was listening to Curran this morning he concluded that there is change coming with the coaching staff.. but on the roster yes lots of work to be done, and then immediately after the draft is in April as well

If you're firing the GM, it's because you thought he was making bad decisions and don't trust him to make good ones. So do you really want him having another year to make bad decisions? It puts some time constraints on the new GM and forces him to get himself up to speed like you pointed out, but I think that's just part of what comes with the new title.

I feel like teams fire their GMs right after the season pretty routinely and have someone new in place for the offseason. Maybe I'm missing something though. I know there's cases of teams waiting until after the draft to part ways like you describe, but feels like that's the outlier, not the norm. Unless I'm off, I see it as pretty normal to just fire the GM after the season and the new guy takes over.
 
Still can't comprehend that the Patriots drafted this bum in the first round
