Thats misleading, they've averaged 20th in the league in those years, they are only 32nd because for 2020, the year Brady left when spending went from $202 to $164.
In 2021 they were 4th in the NFL. 4th!
They also won 2 Super Bowls and played in 3 during that period.
BB was the highest paid coach int he NFL.

Is this a new exhibit that was on TV this week, or did one person dig something old up and then have it regurgitated by all the bad aggregator accounts? Obviously it excludes 2024, which can be a valid way of looking at it but really just makes me think this is a year old.

10 million is nothing.

2016 - 14 wins - Brady could win with anyone at WR. OL too, so NE didnt have to spend at those positions.
2017 - 13 wins - ditto
2018 - 11 wins - ditto
2019 - 12 wins - ditto
2020 - Cam was low money
2021 - Corkys rookie contract
2022 - ditto
2023 - ditto

2025 is a referendum on Kraft.

Make no mistake about it.

He is the Pats GM. How hard can it be? Jerry Jones has been his own GM for years. Kraft complained how BB had control over everything Patriots. Kraft better hope that BB does not turn the Tar Heels into a prestigious program while his team continues to sink like lead. Everybody is talking about UNC and nobody cares about the NEP anymore.

Passed over for the NFL HOF again?

It’s not misleading at all. They weren’t 20th they were last. You can easily be 4th one year and still last over 8 years, they had to spend once because they were so low every other year and had cap to burn.
The strory of Patriots spending is that Kraft won’t spend like other owners. Belichick at least got him to spend to the cap. But to do so he had to limit cash. A 1 year $6,000,000 contact and a 5 year 50 million with a 25 million signing bonus and 1 mill first year salary are the same cap hit but very different players. The untold truth is Belichick did what he did with heavy financial restraints.
Now that we don’t have a 6 time SB Champ in charge, Kraft tightened the belt and we left 40 mill of cap unspent.

Someone posted earlier that they are also last over the last 25 years.

I wouldn't say it's misleading - that's how averages work

2024 isn’t included because 2024 isn’t over

Yes, I pointed out some of the many issues with that data and didn’t get any responses.

It's time to open up them pockets. Should have made a bigger splash this past off-season so Maye had more to work with now. But now that he looks good there is zero excuse for not doing it and there will be no excuses for leaving 50 mil on the table again.

It's misleading to say this proves Kraft is "confirmed cheap" because they are 32nd in this particular average.
Add to the fact BB was a major factor in determining spending for every year there it also is misleading to say it is Kraft.

The data shows they are about 20th in the league over that period when accounting for the one outlier year. The recent years have been worse than the Super Bowl contending years but also makes sense based on the roster and free agents available.

The team that was 4th in the entire league in cash spending in 1 year during that period while having the highest paid coach in the NFL that same year seems to indicate this metric is pretty poor in determining "cheap"

Fair to say that the idea “Kraft is cheap is misleading”, I thought you were claiming that the data in the tweet itself was misleading.

It’s amazing how anyone could defend Kraft since the stunt he pulled with Curtis Martin. The ripple effect derailed that late 90’s team.

Didn’t even want to pay Tom Brady $25M per year for two years to finish out his career with the Pats. Absolutely pathetic.

Found a loophole to cut Antonio Brown when the money was due.

He’s always been cheap.

Kraft is cheap. Who drives a Bentley to a FL strip mall to save money on massages. A really cheap guy.

BB has double the number of assistants at UNC than he had with the Patriots. Wonder why that is?

Do care about the money, he will not loose money. I'm concerned Kraft has said he's staying with Mayo...let him learn I guess. Mayo can feel safe. Sad years ahead until he see's the light.

This part baffles me obviously Bill chose who to spend on but you're going to have to explain why he would want to spend less than other teams?

He might have preferred to spend on STers and depth over bigger splashes but why wouldn't he want more money for more gunners and vices instead of Kraft keeping it?

Am I the only person that wondered when that happened why someone with Kraft's money wasn't utilizing the services of one of those $1500+ an hour "Professionals"?
