DRAFT 2025 Patriots Draft Prospects

You said Maye looks like a Generational Talent... Tarvis Hunter is obvious Hmmmm.
Hunter is the 1 can't miss prospect in the draft. He's going to be a good player in the NFL that's 99% sure. Will he be great, is he generational? A Litte tougher to say. I think he will be a good starter as a CB or a WR, if he mainly concentrated on 1 would he be elite? Maybe.
The main point is guys like him don't bust. Guys like Maye, are rare, but also don't bust. Just a question of what level of success but when you are picking top 3 you can't miss so take the sure thing and don't outthink it..
Campbell is a can't miss as a guard but potential miss as a tackle.
Just such a weak draft year.

Yep. I'd like them to come away with either a true #1 worth giving the big bucks to, but still still young enough stud that'll be around for awhile and/or a solid #2 to go with the aforementioned. In addition to a solid OL, we need to also give Maye a couple of WR's that Defenses have to account for on every play. We totally lucked-put with Maye. He looks like he's going to be a stud. We need to give him the offense next year (while doing what we can to improve the D as much as possible to at least improve a bit (including coaching). And then continue to build on that after the 2025 season with a terrifying D to back up the Offense.

That wasn’t luck. They scouted Maye heavily, rejected the trade offers so many here wanted them to take, and stayed put and took their franchise QB when many on this board were saying that they should take a deal because only 30% of first round QB’ssucceed. If he turned out to be Zach Wilson or Trey Lance everyone here would be screaming for his head, but when he hits the pick out of the ballpark they all just pretend anyone would have picked him, and give Wolf zero credit for making the best call on the pick.

QBs are getting paid in the 45 to 50 mil range, so no not QB range at all.
No. But WRs of his caliber are in the 25-30 mill range QB salary are going to be 55 million plus soon.

Correct, which is ok when your QB is on a rookie contract. With the carry over from this year the Pats will have 160mil in cap space. There will be zero issue paying 30mil a year for a top tier WR

Yes! The Ridley and ayuik situations happened for good reasons. Ayuik wasn't the same players after holding out and neither was Ridley. It was smart to carry over the space. I can also see them doing something with gonzo next season as well like an early extension.

I know we are talking about offensive players mainly but if Hunter is gone, I would not be opposed to Abdul Carter. We need a guy that can rush the passer, and it is a really high need. If we got Higgins, and some lineman that are upgrades in free agency, I could see Carter being a good choice to fill that position.

Let me rephrase: Even I knew that Maye was the best choice for QB based on potential (he's who I wanted over Williams and Daniels, and any other QB in the 2024 Draft). Meaning: I knew that he should have been the pick and stated so on here before the 2024 Draft. And, I'm not in charge of drafting for the Patriots.

The Bears was dead set on Caleb Williams - The Redskins locked onto J Daniels - which leaves Drake Maye or Harrison Jr @3 or 4. How the 2024 unfolded wasn't Rocket science.

On one hand, the Broncos should probably save some money to spend elsewhere. They’ve already got a $18M per year RG, $17.5M RT, and $13M LG, all backloaded so the remaining cap hits are a higher average than that.

On the other hand, Sean Payton signs everybody he wants until his cap guy tells him that there aren’t any contracts to restructure anymore, so a blank check scenario isn’t that unlikely.
With this most likely being Bolles last contract and the fact that he has lived in Denver for the last 8-9 years there might be something to only playing for one team that appeals. Yea Denver will turn into the Saints who always face cap issues due to backloading everything.

One player that seems to be slipping through the cracks is Mason Taylor. Kiper has him as a 3rd round pick, but most have him rated much lower. He’s Jason Taylor’s son and plays tight end for LSU.

He’s 6’5” 255. I’ve read that he lacks speed, but I’ve read that he runs about a 4.65 40. I’ve also read that he lacks functional strength, but that may be due to age. He won’t turn 21 until May. I’ve seen pictures where he looks soft as a freshman, I’ve also seen more recent pictures where he looks ripped.

I learned about him when reading about Jayden Daniels last year. Daniels is playing great this year, but he didn’t seem to use the middle of the field while at LSU and wasn’t looking for Taylor. I’m not sure about LSU’s offense this season, but he does have 546 yards on 55 catches.

He might be an interesting 3rd round pick.
I am super high on Mason Taylor. He has pretty good hands and is not a good blocker but has shown a willingness to block. I look at it if a player is willing then he can be taught technique to improve. My most recent Mock offseason he was my 4th round pick.

I’m fine with them spending for free agents, but this years WR class in free agency sucks: Tee Higgins will be the highest rated WR in the class, but will get overpaid significantly. If you are going to pay a guy 30 million a year then you want it to be an all pro caliber of player, e.g. CerDee Lamb, Justin Jefferson, and Higgins isn’t in that category. You can only pay a few guys 25-30 + million, so you have to be careful who you give it to.
No way Higgins will be the highest paid. Have you seen this class?
Diggs, Cooper, Allen, Godwin, Diontae Johnson, Marquis "Hollywood" Brown, Elijah Moore.

Higgins the Youngest of the Top WR available, but his Injury concerns are there.

IF Will Campbell can Start from Day 1 I'm not against the pick.

Campbell - Robinson - Strange - Onwenu - ???? That should be a Good OL even with a ****ty RT.
I can only speak for myself, but I would rather they have something better than should be good. They absolutely need to spend coin on the OL.

As an aside, I have become infatuated with Jayden Higgins in the 3rd or 4th. I try not to get draft crushes but this one got me bad.

I have said on numerous occasions that Hunter is not the best CB or WR in the draft, but I like my crow fresh so I am not waiting I was rewatching him last night as a CB and FML I was very wrong. I need to go back and watch his as a WR now because I think he is the #1 CB for sure.

The threat of Deion being behind the screen makes me somewhat nervous, can't put my finger on why but it does.

Deion never saw a needed tackle he wanted to make.

That alone gets him $30Mill.

He's a little raw as a WR because it's new but he does a ton of little things as a wide receiver that says he gets it, he understands what the defense is doing and knows how to exploit it. There are a few plays I saw where I was like, yup he'll be really good wr.
His potential growth is higher since he has not played as much wr as db.

Not even talking film he was the #1 recruit out of high school, has pretty much dominated in college, athleticism is off the charts, so smart, has the attitude. Rated the #1 draft prospect by most. He checks box after box.
I watched him in some, I believe, high school all star game, and realized the game is just easy for him, like it is for Drake. I always look for guys like that. They just get it.

Do you like him as a CB or WR? No way any team will play a guy full time at both spots.

Tetairoa McMillan should not be passed If T Hunter is off the board. McMillan's size and speed is very intriguing.
What kind of speed are we talking here? When he runs a 4.53 people are going to have Harry flash backs. Seems to have good game speed and is creative at getting separation. Are we willing to do this experiment again? Not saying he’s
gonna be great, average or terrible, but there will be questions and comparisons that will come up with the prospect.

Let's just draft TMac and call it a day.. and maybe get amari Cooper/ diggs for 2 years 30 million with 12 million guaranteed . And go big on bolles even if it's for 2 years . Trade up to get banks in 1st round as developmental LT and maybe some other mid level veteran LT as insurance for bolles.

Lowe's can compete in training camp and may the best man win the backup job.

Bottom line, if you have a guy that some comp to Champ Bailey you do it and don’t think twice.
