I’m really starting to dislike 2024s version of Robert Kraft.
I think a empty piggy bank has more sense/cents when it comes to football ops.

Bill and Tom really changed the narrative on Kraft and for the better.

Since Kraft let Bill let Tommy walk out that door it's been all down hill.

All of a sudden everyone remembers that Kraft served these grown ass men bologna sandwiches for lunch and couldn't get out of Parcells way.

He has no one to blame but him self for getting evert decision he's ever made wrong except hiring Bill.

We have the most Talented Team in the League on last check. Watch the Rams turn him around sometimes guys perform better in another scenario. We could have taken the chance but we have better on our Roster.
Wolf have to save the money to give lowe and extension..

How does that apply to the 2024 Jerod Mayo Patriots?
The ****ty roster is what's buying mayo time. Now if Wolf goes out and "weaponize" the offense like he claims and mayo the team is still ****ty then Mayo's out!

Nope. They add a bunch of talent, climb to mediocrity and Maye carries them to a wild card appearance. The word "progress" is tossed around, big PR campaign ensues and we're stuck with Mayo putting a hard ceiling on the team for years. That is the absolute worse case scenario other than Maye getting badly hurt. This is why it's key that he's one and done.

I absolutely agree with everything. But I've accepted that RK isn't going to fire him until at least next season.

It applies in that you don’t assume you can’t compete and must have a multi year rebuild.

It would have been easy to assume that 2001 was a lost season. I was even looking at the next years draft possibilities.

Then we won the SB, and the dynasties followed.

What was wrong someone like with Marvin Lewis?

Ohhhh….

And now Kraft plans to spend years proving us all wrong?

Yes, we could have spent $30M more on players for their services in 2024 instead of having the $30M to spend in 2025 and 2026.

We probably could have won a couple of more games. Wolf chose to have $15M a year more available in in 2025 and 2026.

They're one of the least talented teams in the NFL, and "one of" might be a generous qualifier. I find it really, really, REALLY hard to believe they're going to add SO MUCH talent in a single offseason to go from totally bereft of talent to talented enough that they can make the playoffs despite terrible coaching.

It's the NFL there are a number of bad teams. 10 wins gets you in, 9 you have an outside shot.
Losses this year that could have been wins with 1 or 2 plays different:
Seattle
Miami
Titans
Rams
Colts
That's 8 wins with 4 games to go if you are just a LITTLE better.

I could see a playoff possibility because of Maye, a top 3 pick and a few good free agents.

Yep. Turns out we've had the 2nd-EASIEST schedule so far this season; and yet because of this completely ****ing incompetent clown ****ing car of a coaching staph, we're just 3-10. Un-****ing-believable.

Kraft needs to his reset. Anyone associated with Belichick's coaching tree or related to him needs to go. Bring in external hires with no prior affiliation. We need new fresh ideas.

I recall people on here wanting Cooks this off season. And I thought to myself the same thing that you did: If cooks if worth bringing in to help solve our WR problem (even as a supposed quality depth piece), why has he been on so many teams throughout his career. I could never understand anyone wanting him on the Patriots.

I remember why, actually. The Saints and Patriots practiced together before the season, and Cooks had great success against the Pats. IIRC he toasted Malcolm Butler repeatedly. The Pats had been looking for a while for a deep threat with speed for Brady, and it seemed like Cooks was a good option. Belichick also liked getting players who were relatively young (Cooks played for the Pats in his 4th season) and looked like were on the rise.

For him saying yeah we don’t have a a lot of talent we knew this would take time.
That’s not the message you sent to the fans.
It’s such a losing attitude, we won games with Troy brown and Edelman playing defense.
We won games with Benjarvis green Ellis at RB,
We won games with frickin Aaron Dobson and David Patten who was working in an warehouse prior to coming to the pats.

We won games because of prep and coaching.
Now we are ok with losing I can’t stand these Patriots.
And i will buy my Maye jerseys on eBay and DH gate.
What he’s saying is what you say when you were winning games with preparation and coaching and then fired the GOAT HC.

And replaced him with an inexperienced rookie HC whose prime qualification was schmoozing in an airport departure lounge.

Coaching is the limiting factor here now. This coaching staff may not have the best talent to work with, but they aren’t getting the best out of the players they have. Getting more talented players won’t change that, it will just make it less obvious.

He was a logical signing when he was young at that point. He's just proven that he could never consistently put it together.
