DRAFT 2025 Patriots Draft Prospects

Please get the top tackle and draft another tackle. We can pray for top picks but it's really who they choose in the 2nd, 3rd and later. The first should be a no brainer. We need a new gm and coach
And will they just put Wallace at RT from the time Mini-Camp starts! He should have been a starter at RT since he was drafted. That's his best position and they need to see if he's the answer there. Except for Maye, the rest of the picks in the 2024 Draft have done little to nothing. That's inexcusable given where we were drafting and also that they whiffed on Braelon Allen when he was there in the 4th Round (which is the same Round we drafted Rhamondre in).

If they fix LT in free agency then I think the better choice is to take one of the few blue chip players in the draft, Hunter, Graham, Johnson. If they don’t I’m more inclined to stay put and take Campbell or Banks.
I love the idea of Walker Little at LT from Jacksonville. But, if he doesn't sign a new contract there, he'll probably be tagged. Having him as LT through FA would allow us to draft BPA, or whoever is just a stud at another position of need .

Alaric Jackson is also a solid FA. They’d have to compete pretty hard with LA and other teams to get him. It’s gonna be an overpay any way you look at it for him or Walker Little due to demand and lack of just not enough of them. Seems like just about everyone else already got new contracts.

I wouldn't be unhappy if we snagged Deone Walker. Dude is 6'6 and 345 lbs, and is fast and quick in addition to being beastly strong. If we snagged him in the 2nd round like we did Barmore, that would be incredible. I doubt he'll make it to the 2nd Round though. But, we absolutely need a stud next to Barmore and White on the DL. That would allow them to use White like a chess piece (sometimes on the Edge in addition to the interior on some plays).
Deone Walker would be another guy, but you are right, this draft is about 12 or 13 high end prospects and then it falls off a Max Kellerman cliff. Walker isn’t going to round 2 atleast at this point. Graham or Walker coupled with Barmore with White in the 3,5 or 7 transcends a lot of things about the defense. A lot more versatility and a lot more pressure which helps out the LBs and 2ndary. Definitely hope it’s part of the draft equation.

I don’t know much about Jackson, Bolles is the guy I want.

If they sign a good FA LT then I would want them to go tackle with their 2nd round pick. Josh Simmons might be the best LT in this draft, but his injury is going to drop him into play for them.

I just don’t see it that way. It’s a huge jump from college to the pro’s, and I think that you draft players to develop them, not as finished products.

Jville traded Robinson to the Vikings. They are now down to 1 LT which is gonna be hard to pry away as well. Not sure what the cap is like there either though.

That's right! I like Alaric Jackson too! I'm not sure which of the two would be best for us at LT though. Interesting.

My only problem with Bolles is that he's already 32. Even if he doesn't get injured, they will still need a LT in two years max.

I don't know their cap situation either. I do know that unless they tag him, if he wants to go elsewhere there will be no shortage of suitors.

I hope that Wallace can be developed into a solid starting RT. That would address one critical area of need.

My dude. Braelon Allen has rushed 62 times for 229 yards. That’s an avg. 3.7 YPC. Now Im not saying you’re wrong and he’s not gonna be a talent but the kid wouldn’t have done much different for us this year. You keep beating that drum like he’s an ROTY candidate.

RB is a need (at least as quality depth). Had they drafted him, they could have played him during that period when Rhamondre was having serious fumbling issues this season. But, their options were limited because they only had Hasty after Gibson (Gibson being primarily a 3rd down back). He would have been more valuable than Baker in the 4th Round for us this season and beyond. He's not the end all be all, but he would have given us one more talented option in the offensive backfield in specific, and offense in general.

Being better than Dumbass Baker isn't setting the bar too high

Doing some research on the draft and so far reinforcing the idea is a weak draft and Travis Hunter is by far the best prospect.
I took 8 different big boards and also the NFL Mock Database which combines hundreds of mock's and team needs, and 68 online big boards to compare consensus ranking vs expected draft position.

Only 3 players show up in all 9 as top 15

Travis Hunter-STUD: #1 in all 9
McMillan-WR: As high as #2 and as low as #11
Jeanty-RB: As high as #2, as low as #11

The most over drafted:
The QB's Sanders and Ward expected to go 2 and 3 but ranked 9th and 11th on average as prospects

Most Under drafted:
Jeanty, Average 7th prospect but drafted 11th
Starks-Safety 9th best prospect drafted 16th or higher

As you would expect QB is over-drafted and RB and Safety under drafted.

Main takeaways
-Top prospects are few: Hunter, McMillan and Jeanty
-There are 27 other guys that get into the top 15 so after the top 3 and the QB's the prospects in the first round are not separated by that much.

-Tackles: Banks, Campbell, Milum, Simmons show up in top 15 at least once but Milum and Campbell arm length means they are guards and not tackles IMO.

-Wide Receivers: Hunter, McMillan, Burden, Egbuka and Tre Harris are the 5 that show up in at least 1 top 15 list

-Travis Hunter is the ideal draft pick-please oh pretty please!
-McMillan had bad separation #'s last year but can't see if he's improved on that this year, seems to have the hands and size and produces but separation is important. If that has improved he'd be the #2 choice.
-You don't take Jeanty as RB so you might have as good a chance hitting at 15 as you do at #4.
-If available: Hunter-Yes, McMillan-Maybe, then trade down, if possible, if not then Banks is probably the best choice left.

Who are you? Are you that teenager in the gambling TV ad? Good stuff though. I enjoy your posts.

Matt Groh stayed local to Scout while our other Scrub Scouts flew across the country. Putting the cart before the horse. Considering how our Draft Sucked aside from Maye why are they still all here??

I argued before the draft that Maye had the best potential to be not just a QB #1, but a Franchise QB. I'm not the VP of Player Personnel and even I knew Maye should have been the pick. Wallace might prove to be a solid RT. I'm not giving up on Polk (as it's way too early for that). I don't yet know what to make of Baker. The 2025 off season (FA and Draft) will show whether or not Wolf knows what he's doing. I don't know about the rest of the fan base, but I've been a staunch supporter of this team since 1975.

Once again, Belichick’s comments in real time made it very clear he did t think Maye was a good pick. Anyone who says otherwise is lying.

Dead right. Belichick and Brady should have been ****canned during their first years here as well. Knee jerk Patsfans who want instant success or else are the smartest fans. Too bad they picked Drake Maye as well, you were right in demanding they draft a receiver, that Mac Jones to Harrison combo would have killed it.
