Seems like he should have been fired weeks ago but scapegoated his OC which bought him a few weeks.

What a trainwreck. I have no idea why they thought it was smart to draft Caleb but keep Eberflus. They should have hit reset on the entire staff first.

I can actually see what the coach is thinking there. But if the OC isn't in the ear of the QB immediately and saying rush to the line, throw it over the middle, then the whole situation is screwed up. 30 seconds wasted looks like a colossal coaching and player error.

If I were coach, I should think that with 36 seconds left, my team can get to the line in 15 seconds and snap the ball. Throw it over the middle because they are guarding the boundaries. Timeout. FG.

Caleb has looked alot better since the oc change. Complete change from the guy we saw when we beat them. If they find themselves a good hc and fix up the ol they could have a pretty bright future. Big if though in Chicago.

Coaching decisions / non decisions by a HC that was 10-24 coming into this season directly sealed at least three losses. The clock snafu was his third blatant strike, he's out. Hell, that was so mindnumgingly bad they should have left him in Detroit.

There's no way Kraft fires Mayo after just 2 seasons. But, say next year we go another 6-11 type season (likely).
And they stock up with genuine coordinators (with HC experience, or highly touted) and have accumulated good talent.
And then '26 starts off bad, like 2-7, would Kraft do a mid-season firing and promote one of those guys?

2 seasons? Maybe. He's gotta show improvement. I don't think they'll fire him after Y1 unless he has an Eberflus type moment. Y2, they need to be better all the way around: record, situational awareness, overall preparedness, better control of locker room, all of it. If he's bumbling along Y2 like this year, he's done IMO.
