2024 !!! This years team is just really bad. If we did not have Maye, thinks would look even worse. As bad as last year was, I still felt that certain players were still trying and playing hard . This year it feels like nobody gives a damn and that is more disheartening than anything. There is just no accountability or cohesiveness among the coaches and players. I don’t see a sense of urgency or anyone in the sideline making any changes during the game. So disappointed overall.
Other years we might have had issues but nothing like this year !

Agreed. Last season players knew things were coming to an end with Bill and wanted to play for him. Guys wanted to show him respect and play hard for him. Players hear all the talk just like the fans do. The losing culture that's permeated the last few seasons had breeded the lax behavior and attitude. Players should care becuase let's be honest half this roster will be turned over next season and guys are auditioning for jobs. Mayo said something interesting he said I'm looking to see who are the guys to keep going forward. The defense has been a joke this season!

We can be a team with limited talent (and we are) still playing crisp football with good coaching and just losing out to better teams. I can accept that.

I agree with this . The penalties, the no tackling , the stupid challenges , not taking time outs when needed etc are just bad fundamentals . It starts with the coach and ends with the players. If neither do any of those things then it’s a recipe for disaster.

1. 2023- worst offense I have ever seen
2. 2024- worst WRs I have ever seen
3. 2000- no heart pathetic year
4. 2020- boring middling team
5. 2021- most overrated team in history
6. 1995 - Abysmal offense
7. 2009 - couldn’t win the big games
8. 1999- had some bad luck, fell apart
9. 2005 - bad loss to Denver. Win and you have a great chance at three peat.
10. 2019 - expectations weren’t too high. You could sense the wheels falling off.
11. 1993 - my first year watching the nfl. Abhorrent team.
12. 2002 - worst run defense I have ever seen.

The team that lost the playoff game to the Ravens and was behind 21-0 at the end of the first quarter. TB threw an interception like he didn't care and just threw it out there. Ravens back, (forget his name but he punched out his wife) ran for TD on first play from Scrimmage.
Not so much teams for me as it is particular games. Sam Bam running out of bounds in Oakland, TB getting a safety on the first play of a SB. This is awful, now I'm remembering all those games. Joe Washington Baltimore in the rain. ARGH!!!!

This is, percentage-wise, a rare case of the Patriots living down to their laughingstock reputation.

You have a losing aura surrounding a team, you're going to be much more prone to behaving like a loser.

The 81 team was probably the most frustrating year for me given I was just a kid and was coming off 5 straight years where we were really good. I started watching in 76 at the age of 8 so that was pretty lucky.

The Rust and Mcpherson years were the most painful to watch. Again we were coming off of a string of very successful years and then the injuries and age caught up to us but those teams were also not coached well and lacked talent.

Last year was combination of the first two periods I mentioned. It was frustrating because I thought we would start to turn the corner and instead it was a complete bleep show and that team was not well coached, or at least didn't take coaching lessons well if you're a BB loyalist.

Certainly there are others but that's my bottom three.

Well, the impending doom of the franchise moving was postponed, at least. All those $millions in debt were paid - but by a carpetbagger with no ties or interest in us, here.

Despite our record, there still remained several great Patriots within the organization, who would be a part of great success later.

There were some bright moments, mainly when Scar took over on an interim basis. Scar is world class.

And, the team had its logo and uniform which is considered by many, if not most, to be the best in the sport, if not all sports.

It's really always been a quarterback driven game, and the Patriots would have been winners during as scary a financial time as it gets if they'd just kept Flutie and started him. But they didn't.
