Better or different players aren't going to help this team. So much of the discussion about talent seems so pointless. We're seeing players who are out of position and who played better in the past do things that are so mind boggling and wrong.

It's not going to change with different players.

Well, up to a point. But yesterday the tackles got beaten, the defenders allowed an extra two or three yards after contact with the back, the defensive line couldn't rush the passer -- as well as there being a night-and-day contrast between the play design and play calling of the two offenses.

Let me explain my post brother. For 23 seasons this was considered the premiere organization in the NFL. Once the 2 goats left the roster decisions have doomed this franchise. So I still think the patriots are a class organization all together but the people they have running the roster and coaching and putrid.

Still like what I see from Maye, but that Mac Jones esque INT... I guess we'll see what comes up for the combination of "rookie making steady improvements" and "other teams now have more film on the new QB, so they can gameplan better."

I don't think Maye and Jones are anything alike. Most of Mayes picks have been out of desperation, trying to turn nothing into something. Jones forced ugly passes that were easily picked off. There is very little similarity between the two other than they both have played for the Pats. As for teams having more film and can game plan better. I have seen enough off script, side arm, throwing back across the body in air from him like a certain QB in Kansas City does to not worry too much about game planning for him because the NFL hasn't done but so good with regards to shutting Mahomes down and making him a nonfactor in a game.

Maye just needs to learn to let plays go when the risk to reward is too great, I think he can easily be taught that. The tools are there and its obvious, he just has to not feel like he must save this trash team every play.

The pats not being a good team next year will fall squarely on Kraft. I was open to giving Mayo a chance as I think CEO type coaches similar to Bill. Harbaugh & Tomlin are the most effective but it’s clear he’s in over his head. Vrabel should’ve been the coach from the start & his record with mediocre QB play speaks for itself. He’ll toughen up the team & the defense will improve significantly.

Nearly every offensive mind in the NFL would want a chance to coach Maye with potentially Higgins & McMillan. The pats are really going to roll it back with an incompetent coach because the owner won’t admit he’s wrong? Great.

Next year’s FA has multiple starting caliber LTs. Regardless of what you think of Higgins he’s the best FA WR in awhile & won’t cost any draft picks. The pats currently have a top 5 pick and have a chance at a generational two way player or an elite WR prospect. Will the owner spend? Will the GM hit on multiple picks? Will Mayo still be here?

The pats can be a frustrating .500 team next year with poor coaching or improve significantly to a playoff contender with the assets they have available. Unfortunately, I think they’ll be the former.

Well, when the nation gets around to abandoning entirely this approach, which ultimately cripples those whom its advocates condescending claim to be "helping," we can all direct our attention to other problems. Thankfully, we have made good progress in this direction of late.

I think the latter is exactly what's happening with the strip sacks/fumbles. 4 strip sacks in 7 games. That's not a small number.

I am convinced there's something there on tape like he's not protecting the ball well under pressure and now teams are attacking that flaw. I'd like to say I'm confident the coaches will fix that but I'm not confident about anything around the coaches right now.

He just needs to learn that as he is trying to dance around the bodies crashing around him when the pocket is collapsing to not have the ball out away from his body. I would like to see him get out of a failing pocket a little faster and not try to jump around in their hoping someone comes open.

I agree...I think we have issues if next year he doesn't cut down on the turnovers especially if they improve on the line.
