It's easy, and only takes a few moments.I think this team would have to be very much better than it is now to be even remotely close to good enough that it will likely replicate the Chiefs' experience, even aside from the unlikelihhod that Drake, and any other qb for that matter, is likely to rise to the level of Mahomes' brilliance. The Chiefs also had Andy Reid in place, a proven, experienced HC with a genius for offense. We have Jerrod Mayo, a people-pleasing boob with no experience and no apparent aptitude for learning from such experience as he has had. He's got 4 more years on his deal (assuming they pick up his 5th year option which is extremely likely). If they give Mayo/Wolf another year or two, you still have, at worst, 2 more years on his rookie deal. Then you're going to have to pay him. The Chiefs seem to be making it work with paying Mahomes. I'm sure they can make it work with Maye unless the team is in an even worse state than it is now after 4 years.
We don't know for sure. Maybe he makes the fabled second year leap.I think this team would have to be very much better than it is now to be even remotely close to good enough that it will likely replicate the Chiefs' experience, even aside from the unlikelihhod that Drake, and any other qb for that matter, is likely to rise to the level of Mahomes' brilliance. I expect, based on trends, that by the time Maye's contract is up, it will likely be SOP for elite qb's to have a VERY strong voice in where they go for their second contract. Unless there is a distinct improvement in the way this team is managed, built and coached, I think it entirely possible Drake might say, "No thanks," and I would not blame him.Great points. I fully expect the team to surround Drake with playmakers in the offseason and add guys on defense as well. Drake is such a humble, team first guy. I believe his make up, his mentality will always allow him to be level headed and try and be the best leader he can be. I think the only way Drake doesn't take the 60 million when it's time to pay him is if this team doesn't improve the roster significantly..
I remember when Tomlin took over as HC for pit.. he received alot of criticism early on similarly to Mayo. From what I've read Tomlin and Mayo formed a pretty good relationship. Although that Pittsburgh team had a young Ben and littered with veterans. Once he won that superbowl, everything changed for Tomlin. The clock starts ticking next season for Mayo and his staff as well as wolf. So we'll see.We don't know for sure. Maybe he makes the fabled second year leap.
Drake seems to really love it here. He said himself he's becoming a new englander himself. I truly hope that he stays and has a long tenure here. Elite QB are so difficult to find and develop. The organization has done that. Now surround him with talent and allow the roster to be able to support him going forward.I expect, based on trends, that by the time Maye's contract is up, it will likely be SOP for elite qb's to have a VERY strong voice in where they go for their second contract. I had a technical writing job once for a company that did piss poor work and did care that they did so. No body cared to do better, and that was seen as just fine. It was an easy job, but it became to depressing to sit there and mail it in every day, so I quit, despite the low demands and the really good pay. There is nothing more grinding than working for a crap outfit where whatever talent you might have is just wasted.
I hope so too. I think he's terrific, but that just makes the contrast with this wretched team all the more infuriating.Drake seems to really love it here. As for ozzy he must be thinking my former team is going to the playoffs and I'm inactive on the 32nd ranked roster.Polk being active is mind boggling
Dugger is best utilized up around the line.. he's instinctive and great against the run when close to the line. You're right forcing some TOs are a cure for a struggling defense.Hot take alert: I think playing more Mapu & Hawkins than Dugger will help us.
Dugger has been so inconsistent - because of his lack of discipline. Sure, he makes a few good tackles per game, but his liability in coverage and taking every other play off is detrimental.
We need more speed and instincts in the pass defense today.
If Pats D can punch MIA offense in the mouth on the first few possessions, they tend to go flat.
A couple good hits on Tua, and a forced TO would be a welcome sign.
I WOULD NOT LIKE THEM HERE OR THERE.i don’t like Miami. I don’t like T Hill. I don’t like Tua. I don’t like their coach, nor the coach’s hair.
