Fire Groh and Wolf. Do not let them ruin another offseason. “You want to get faster? You better get fast guys, and I don’t know many guys out there that are faster than Tyquan,” Groh said on Friday.

Agreed. Trading up in the 2022 draft to secure a WR was a good idea, albeit ruined by the selection of Thornton while SEC star George Pickens was still on the board. Inexcusable to draft Thornton over Pickens and Groh/Wolf must be held accountable

Very disappointing flameout. He goes to show that you have to consider the level of competition these guys face at the college level. BoneyT looked great in the Big12. But the Big12 in his day was notorious for pass defense being an afterthought. He just couldn't make the jump against DBs who actually worked at their craft. Still, I like the kid; I hope he catches on somewhere that does us no harm.
It’s not the first time patriots have drafted a “project” WR from an obscure school while passing up on a highly productive WR from the SEC…been happening for 20 years!!!

I Never Forgave BB for that he could have overruled them! But he thought anybody as long as they act like a choir boy could play WR. One of the many reasons why he's not Coaching Today.

No they just actually need to care about drafting WR's and make it a priority. There were plenty of WR's to be had in 2020 and they stayed passive and didn't care in a year where their GOAT QB was *****ing about how bad the offense was and ultimately left. A marginal trade up would have gotten them Jefferson or Lamb and you'd have an impact player that would have made everyone better up to this very day.

It wouldn't have even been a difficult trade either. They just watched everyone else get aggressive and then traded down once everyone was gone.

They just always find some stupid reason to not prioritize the position enough to be aggressive.

2018-2020 NFL drafts players who fell to the Patriots and we passed on them:

Lamar Jackson
Calvin Ridley
AJ Brown
DK Metcalf
Deebo Samuel
DJ Moore
Nick Chubb
Tee Higgins
Brandon Aiyuk
Diontae Johnson
Courtland Sutton
Michael Pittman
Terry McLaurin
De’Andre Swift

And you wonder why our offensive talent is appallingly awful?

Turn the knife brother turn the knife: ooohhh my back.

Don't forget that 2019 draft N'Keal and joeun Williams...
2019 is sickening…

One could say 2018 was abhorrent as well.

Two first round picks. We have a 41 year old disgruntled QB on the last year of his contract. Future 3x NFL MVP, QB Lamar Jackson, inexplicably falls to 31. We pass up on him TWICE.

We draft a fat slow guard at 23 with two SEC wide receiver stars available on the board (Calvin Ridley & DJ Moore).

Then at 31…we draft a running who wasn’t even the best college RB back on his own team!!! (Nick Chubb)

Killed us in the long term. Just horrendous decisions by our draft management team

lol right it hurts…but a lot of us “arm chair” fans on this message board were vociferously making these posts on this forum at the time. We foresaw this. Unfortunately, the patriots front office millionaires didn’t have the same astute awareness.

Wha? Thought he was gone for a while now….

Where does Thornton rank among the worst WR's drafted?

He was only picked 18 slots after Harry. Thornton was worse than Harry, so I think he's #1.
I’m sorry but Harry takes the cake because we chose him over AJ Brown, Deebo, and DK Metcalf.

2013 stings a lot…Dobson over Keenan Allen.

Preach Brother preach it was a egregious Draft Day crime by the Patriots organization with most of those selections. That is why when I hear BB talk about the Draft I do this la la la not listening.

The margin of error to get that pick right was extremely slim. He was by far the biggest draft bust and the 2019 class was Bill's worst draft in the Tom/Bill era.

Thornton was not nearly as important to be a hit than Harry.

To expound on my last post..

I actually forgot. We drafted a pathetically porous CB from Vanderbilt named JoJuan Williams with AJ Brown still sitting on the board.

And Metcalf and McLauren.

Our WR scouts demonstrably do not have the capacity to learn...
However they do have the capacity to hold dirty picture of Kraft which allows them to keep their jobs. They must have stole those pictures from Jake Bequette, who had them tightly in his possession for 4 years. It’s the only explanation I can come up with.

The Patriots Coaching staff would rather use K Boutte as an X WR than you Tyquan. What does that tell you Tyquan?? You SUK!
