Meant to post this here, sorry if I'm now reposting lol.

To add some more info,

Source: Jared Verse tied an NFL record held by two All-Pro pass rushers

"Not only is he generating pressure at an incredibly high rate, but he’s also making big plays against the run and creating tackles for a loss. He added two more to his season total on Monday night against the Dolphins, recording another sack and a tackle for a loss.

That gives him 11 on the year, which is tied for the third-most of any player in football this year, behind only Trey Hendrickson and Gregory Rousseau. More impressively, it’s as good a start as any defender has had in the last 25 years."

The last players to do this in their first 9 games are Von Miller and Micah Parsons.

"If Verse keeps up his current pace of 1.2 tackles for a loss per game, he’s on track to have almost 21 in 17 games as a rookie. For comparison, Aaron Donald had 18 as a rookie and he only had more than 21 twice: 22 in 2015 and 25 in 2018. His 20 tackles for a loss in 2019 also led the league that year."

Source: Rookie Jared Verse is a battering Ram, sacking QBs and talking a great game for Los Angeles

"He’s widely considered the midseason favorite to be the NFL’s defensive rookie of the year, an honor won by Donald himself exactly a decade ago."

How do we think our WR stack against their secondary?

We are OK there as they have bad coverage guys and allow a very high yards per attempt.
Rams have Verse but the other 3 are all in the top 50 in pass rush win % as well.
Either Maye has just enough time to throw and he throws for over 300 yards, or he runs for his life all game long and tries to do too much and we struggle with turnovers and only have success when Maye makes a Superman type play.
Boom or Bust day for the offense
We will know if the line is actually any better than earlier in the year after this game. I have my doubts but we will see.

The only thing that matters this season is that Drake establishes himself as an NFL QB. Clearly Maye could have played sooner, just as clear is that he had firm command of the huddle and calling plays when he got on the field. Pressure from the rest of the players helped get Maye to start which means that they were invested in his success. Compare that to the Bears where Williams was anointed as starter and the rest of the players are not invested in their QB. This season was never going to be championship level so I am simply happy that Maye will have enough time to prove that he is the clear #1 going into training camp next year.
Most seasons aren't championship level and I'd be thrilled to make the playoffs. Maye has clearly shown that he's #1. It's still too early to call but the signs are good so far.

Winning is what matters to everyone but the Tankheads. We have no idea where the team would be now if Maye had started the season instead of Brissett, but another one or two wins could have made a difference

Williams had the look of a bust when we saw him crying on his mother's lap. Maye isn't anything like that. Just as it is with Maye though, it's still early.

300yds?? IF one of the Bourne/Polk come alive those two have been way too inconsistent. IF we can't run to keep their Defense honest it will be tough sledding. I hope Maye can gash em few times to back em off: that said run it decently and pass off play action is our hope.

It was suprising to watch that rams/dolphins game and neither team ran or threw the ball well. Quite a few turnovers leading to points or it would’ve been a very low scoring game.

Rams have a banged up OL so im hoping our defense can build off that Chicago game. We will need them to, its a really tough matchup for Drake unless our line can pull something out its ass.

We need Pop Douglas in there for every snap can't waste snaps to KJ Osborn. If their Defense is bringing the heat we need the quick passing game feed Henry - Pop and Hooper.

Obviously you have a valid perspective. While I think that Maye would have not been broken by struggling if he started earlier, I am comfortable with how things played out. Playing Maye after the team bottomed out positioned him to be part of the solution, not part of the frustration. From here wins do matter most. The team needs to learn how to win consistently to take the next step.

I wouldn't bet on us being able to run. That's the one thing their defense is pretty good at. If the Pats win, it'll because Maye found more yards in the air than previous games (this is my guess, at least)

Rams pass defense stinks, other than the pressure they put on the QB. Maye threw for 276 vs Jax. Boutte is better now, Maye is better now, Rams secondary is just as bad.
If he has time, he could go off in this game a bit. I'm only at like 25% chance he'll have any time to throw but if he does....he'll have a big game.

I realize K Boutte is drawing the Safety over the Top: but our other WR's are not springing open. I find that very disconcerting: I almost can't wait for next year when they'll have the right Payers in place. Imagine Boutte being used as a real #2 and not a #1 I think he would do excellent against a #2 CB and not a Teams #1.

Osborn getting snaps is just bizarre to me, hes had plenty chances. Pop henry and Boutte should be out there nearly every passing down until someone else shows they can get open.

QB Drake Maye (64; 100%), LT Vederian Lowe (64; 100%), LG Michael Jordan (64; 100%), C Ben Brown (64; 100%), RG Michael Onwenu (64; 100%), RT Demontrey Jacobs (64; 100%), WR Kayshon Boutte (62; 97%), TE Hunter Henry (57; 89%), RB Rhamondre Stevenson (45; 70%), TE Austin Hooper (41, 64%), WR K.J. Osborn (29; 45%), WR DeMario Douglas (27; 42%), WR Ja’Lynn Polk (26; 41%), RB JaMycal Hasty (12; 19%), RB Antonio Gibson (7; 11%), OL/TE/FB Sidy Sow (6; 9%), WR Javon Baker (4; 6%), TE Jaheim Bell (2; 3%), TE Mitchell Wilcox (1; 2%), OL/TE Layden Robinson (1; 2%)

Do you believe that?? I can't! one of the reasons I'm not sold on AVP. Javon Baker got Four measley snaps can we play the future AVP!

Ridiculous. Hopefully they finally cut the cord on osborn

I know Pop excels in the Slot but I'm kinda surprised we are not running more Two TE sets. Henry and Hooper could do damage over the middle with Pop an Boutte on the outsides.

Nucua and cupp are YAC guys.. I have concerns with tackling these guys. 8 yards can easily become 35 with these guys.. I believe the key will be pressuring Stafford and Drake doing Drake things.. using his running abilities to break down the defense.

Ozzy playing over KB was bizarre especially after KB had some production in Tennessee.. I just can't wait for the new WR group next season. DJ Moore, pop, Polk and baker, Boutte, KB

I think I read that kb made some mental errors in Tennessee that led to the benching. Hopefully its a short term thing as production wise he definitely made strides and had a connection going with drake. Hes an underrated asset here whenever hes on his game

AVP instead of running 2 TE sets he has guys running into each other .. he needs to play baker let him run deep post routes. Any day now AVP...

Or Tee Higgins- Pop - Boutte - Baker - Polk and KB.

I mentioned before KB was balling last season prior to the knee injury. He was well on his way to a 1,000 yard season. Like most skill position players it take time for him to get back fully to where he was. So I'm willing to give KB a pass we know what he can do. Just like I know what KJ can do not much! . Pop, Boutte, Polk and baker we know are part of the future at WR. I think KB is a leader and one of our better players
