You might very well be right about Purdy. He's been a feel good underdog story. I just don't yet know if he can raise his game yet.

Brady finally got his revenge in 2020 against Spagnolo and lit his defense up for 31 points.

This year is a big test for Purdy with Aiyuk gone and Samuel slowing down. Overall, Purdy hasn’t been that great this season and has blown some games they should’ve won against Arizona and LA.

and yeah, not saying he is the greatest, but until SF finds someone else, I would not be giving up on Purdy at this point
