I see a disorganized program, which leads to disorganization on the field. On defense, you've got guys in the wrong gaps, players freelancing, and they don't play cohesively from front to back. Do you want to know why they've fallen off so much on that side of the ball? That's it. You can't do that and expect to be good. And they could still make it work even without some of the big pieces they've lost (Barmore/Bentley/Peppers). Maybe not to the level it's been previously, but they're not good. They should be better.

Yikes.

That’s the kind of perception that gets our coaching staff completely blown up at season end.

I said my biggest concern was Covington him being Raw to the position.
If you dig it up I said I was concerned about missed assignments, mental errors,
I never dreamed the WRs and O line would be as bad as it has been though.
With a competent offense Maye may throw for 500 yds a game.

Kliff Kingsbury or Ben Johnson or Josh Mcdaniels or Joe Brady, followed by Kellen Moore and Brian Flores.
Nobody else should get a interview Mayo needs to go.
Anyway we could pr

"What do they do well? I'm asking because I don't know." I've asked this for years. This team doesn't have an identity. During Bill's golden years they were smart, ability to take away things offenses do well, set the edge, morph into a different team each week based on opponent, etc., etc. That ended starting in 2020 and Bill's awful drafts and personnel decisions just caught up to him. The 2020 season where the entire defense was running off the field almost every play and being substituted was the first of being criticized for looking very unorganized.

"Have they even won a game he (Maye) played from start to finish (editor's note: no)? "Bingo! This is pretty basic analysis and many people here didn't even realize this. It's even more alarming given the teams he's played. He at least needs to win some games against crappy opponents.

"I'm not sure they did anything to improve it (roster)"
Amazing you guys didn't see this during the off-season. Every move was praised here and it's as if some of you only watch the Patriots and read too much PFF.

The article only scratches the surface of how brutal the scouts tear apart the Pats.

I am usually on the positive side
This is not a Hail BB post. His last couple of years and GM duties were at times horrendous
For most of the 20 year run we were blessed with good coached and disciplined teams
You did not have to be an expert to see and feel it
This current team is dysfunctional. Badly coached with no sense of urgency or accountability
Maye excites me. There are others that are keepers.
I just hope that Kraft does not waste another year wasting that talent because his ego and wallet speak more loudly
Time to bring in some Varsity Coaches and GM

If this is how one scout sees us,I am sure many others do also. This team has no identity, there is no cohesiveness, it seems they do not play well together. They are not a team. This all starts at the FO and with the coaches. We have the worst coaching staff this year. It is such a travesty, Kraft decided that his own personal agenda and ego were more important that the team, this is the end result that we are left with. We went from one of the best places for free agents to none of them wanting to come here !!! I don’t see that changing for a while. It’s too bad, Mayes best years could be wasted!!

You are casting your net too wide. Some here haven been highly critical of the FO from free agency through the draft. That said, one of Polk’s biggest defenders during OTAs (when he looked slow and lacked any explosiveness) is now ****ting on Polk every chance he gets. Better late than never?

It’s what leaves you scraping the bottom of the barrel for coaches and free agent players that can be induced to come here, mostly by overpaying for underperformers.

Not as much concerned about his boss being new and raw to the HC position?

I’d see it the other way around. HC gets to screw up everything during his learning curve. DC only gets to screw up one side of the ball.

In other news, water is wet.
Perhaps not !
Most scientists define wetness as a liquid's ability to maintain contact with a solid surface, meaning that water itself is not wet, but can make other sensation. But if you define wet as 'made of liquid or moisture', as some do, then water and all other liquids can be considered wet.

Nit-pick much Dec54??

Just saying

That article is a brutal tale down of every... From the head coach, the OC the DC, the position coaches... And the level of talent on the roster...

No cohesion ... Every one doing their own thing across the board... The coaching is not sinking in... Are Mayo & Co just not effective communicators? I dunno for certain, but I'd hazard a guess that's a "yes"...

We can see this on a weekly basis without the scouts expertise. I've never seen a 2-7 team in the NFL that wasn't disorganized. On the defensive side it's mind boggling because they are running the exact same defense as last year. Difference is the level of players they have to rely on with the top dogs.

This is what happens when you prioritize attributes other than competence when forming your coaching staff.
Did he get to form his own staff? I recall reading somewhere that he was in such a bubble having only worked in NE that he didn’t have enough contacts to know who to select.

That said, you’re not wrong.

I totally agree, don't need no "expert" to tell us what is so obvious. Guess we are all "experts"
