It’s not appearing anyone at WR drafted after him is faring much better so far this season.

WR’s drafted after Polk in rounds 2/3:

Adonai Mitchell: 10 catches, 109 yards.
Malachi Corley: 1 catch 4 yards. 1 touchback.
Jermaine Burton: 1 catch, 47 yards
Roman Wilson: 0 for 0
Jalen McMillan 10 catches, 109 yards.
Luke McCaffrey: 12 catches for 111 yards.

The highest producer through the entire remaining draft from there is Jordan Whittington in the 6th, who’s posted 18 for 201. Still nothing Earth shattering.

Feels like we just drew a short straw with the run of WR’s right before us. The quality of the position group dipped tremendously after those guys were off the board. McConkey, Coleman, Leggette, Worthy, BTJ.., all of these dudes are looking like hits so far.

You do realize we traded back and gave the Chargers the pick they drafted McConkey with, right?

Wolf massively ****ed it up. We should have stayed where we were and drafted McConkey.

Maye is a work in progress on a team finding its way.

WRs are about timing and so forth.

Some WRs historically suck the first year and take off in year Two. Seems like Pop and Boutte are mercifully bucking that disturbing trend for Young Patriots WRs.

That's why I am willing to give it until next year before I make a judgement on Polk (and Baker for that matter).

But at the moment, passing up on McConkey, who was one of my draft binkies, is looking like an epic fail.

Are you surprised? Patriots front office employees the worst WR scouts in nfl history.

2006: Chad Jackson over Greg Jennings

2009: Brandon Tate over Mike Wallace

2010: Passed on Golden Tate, drafted Taylor Price in round 3.

2012: Jake Bequette over Ty Hilton in round 3

2013: Aaron Dobson over Keenan Allen

2014: Passed on Jarvis Landry in round 2

2017: Derek Rivers over Chris Godwin in round 3

2018: Isaiah Wynn over Calvin Ridley & DJ Moore

2019: N’Keal Harry over AJ Brown, Deebo Samuel, and DK Metcalf

2020: Pass on Brandon Aiyuk, Michael Pittman, and Tee Higgins in rounds 1-2

2022: Tyquan Thornton over George Pickens

2023: Keoin White over Rashee Rice and Jayden Reed

2024: Ja’lynn Polk over Ladd McConkey

I don't give a crap about Value if the Patriots don't Draft that Guy below #1 overall: they're Idiots running the asylum. Mike Evans reincarnated nuff said.

Push the knife in Ray Ray now take it out very slowly... that's progress.

The sad thing is they could just pick up a draft magazine and do a better job
You know the very position BB crapped on is one of the reasons he's not Coaching Today. Harry instead of A.J. Brown - Deebo Samuel or Metcalf. Tyquan over George Pickens is the most egregious: after watching both players he figured Tyquan had the higher ceiling. You can't make this $h!t up.

When sf drafted pearsall I couldn’t have been happier , guaranteed one of legette /coleman, / Ladd would be there for us. Not sure why we overthought this. Did they not want ladd since they already had demario? Whats the harm in having both? Ladd was a way better prospect than polk, should’ve kept it simple and gotten drake a legit target first and foremost. Im not giving up on polk yet but this is looking like a MAJOR ****up.

The Pop Douglas take is reasonable: but Pre Draft it was said that Ladd can line up on the outside too he was not one dimensional. IF we're getting a WR in the Draft in 2025 we have to get one from the very Top. I am not very high on the group as a whole very weak Draft.

That’s a brutal list. Had they hit on just one WR with Tom, you could add at least one more ring and the 10 year drought ends sooner.

That list of WR draft comparisons is the most insane thing ever. And that's all under BB!!
So, it's a bit unfair to judge Wolf so harshly for his first draft & offseason as "de facto GM", where these guys have only had 1/2 a season with an overall garbage roster & coaching staff.

I think if Polk can withstand the onslaught of this trial-by-fire, he could still develop into a solid #2 or 3 WR. It's just a bad case of the drops that has crushed his confidence as a rookie. We'll see if Baker gets a shot to contribute. But, next year it could be Pop, Polk, Boutte, Baker as our primary 4 WR's - with a BIGTIME #1 addition.

If they take AJ Brown instead of N'Keal in 2019 and Tom still gets hurt because the offensive line is a mash unit of injury... they don't necessarily add one more ring.

He also still leaves after that season, a rookie player isn't changing his or his ex-wife's mind.

If the 2024 Patriots offense could block, some of our WR's could look great... we'll never know.

Totally disagree Wozzy I have ran that Scenario in my mind many times "Brady stays".

@TheRainMaker was talking about the 10-year drought in between 2004 and 2014 where they didn't win a Super Bowl and probably would have had they hit on one of those guys in between.
