For all Bill's faults with WRs he definitely knew how to utilize the skill sets of guys like Pop as good as anyone else ever has. Very frustrating to see his production drop under AVP so far.
One of the reasons why I'm not feeling Fat-Pelt.

Keenan Allen was really good before Herbert showed up. Clutch WR.
I meant the last few years when I thought he had become overrated and was starting to wear down. He also had Philip Rivers but I agree he was a stud early on.
He was also hasn't seen a 60%+ success rate since 2018 and is a paltry 42.9% this year.
Guy has had 16 injures in his career, tough as nails baller but he's worn out because he's never been afraid to take the hits and doesn't have a QB that can help him anymore.

There's really only one positive you can give AVP right now and that's Maye. And then you have to decide how much of that is coaching and how much is just a young talented kid.

Wether it's Mayo, AVP, or Covington I don't want to be giving up on any of them but they each need to show more during the rest of the season or even I might reach for a pitchfork.

Maye is the real deal if a player is talented it will show early. We need a innovative Offensive mind to truly unlocked Maye...AVP's system is holding him back it's not in this century. Ben Johnson from Detroit is the guy I would covet we need an Offensive minded HC.

Gotta admit Mayo don't look ready for primetime: the Krafts can correct their mistake very quickly though.

5% coaching, but that's not AVP's fault, he's actually working well with Maye and getting the right things done with him, but Maye was the most pro ready prospect in a very long time. He just needed to play to learn NFL coverages, NFL speed, etc.

After watching the Washington tape, Kingsbury is way better coordinator than AVP. I think AVP is adequate, maybe average but as Brady pointed out the QB play these days, on average is nothing like it was 10-15 years ago.
Some of the coordinators are so good they take average QB's and make them look like all-pro's. Patriot lucked out getting one of the few QB's that doesn't need that to succeed but if you pare him with a Ben Johnson level OC, like Any Reid and Mahomes, the sky is the limit.
You need to aspire to greatness, AVP been in the league forever, he's not going to ever be better than average.
I don't see any scenario where Kraft gets rid of Mayo in 1 year but if Ben Johnson is interested in the position and you don't fire Mayo and hire Johnson then you are not understanding the modern NFL. It's a no brainer move.

The problem is that Kraft probably won't fire Mayo, but they might want to fire AVP. However, they'll struggle to attract a new OC to work under Mayo considering that person will probably feel he has very bad job security if things don't turn around immediately, which he can't fully control since Mayo stinks and the other side of the ball may still stink.

I hope Kraft is not that loyal, some guys are just coordinators and I feel Mayo might be one of those in the end. It should be all about Maye, get him the Coaching and Players he needs to succeed. What's your take on Nick Caley?? Look at the job he's doing in LA he has nobody's looking better than our best Receivers ie... Robinson and Atwell. To think we had the freaking guy on our Staff.

AVP has been in the league a long time but this is his first time calling plays. I think he can improve as a play caller. Especially if we get a functional O-line.

That said I'd take Ben Johnson in a heartbeat.

I'm not sure Kraft will be so ready. Which is why I think it's important for the coaches to show noticeable improvement during the second half. Create some reason for optimism and don't put Kraft in the position of having to bring them all back on blind faith.

Scary thing is we don't even know if he's a good coordinator. Some guys like Pepper Johnson or Scar are just really good position coaches.

Maye didn't shy away from the idea that beating CW means something.
It would say a lot to bounce back and win this game - in terms of national perception of Maye and the potential of this team going forward.

But if our D doesn't get their heads out of their pumpkins on Run D, nothing matters the rest of this season.
I love how open and honest he is about these kind questions. It shows how competitive he really is.

So we transitioned from the GOAT of HC's to a nobody Wow!

Back to fully rooting for the tank. Hoping the Pats lose out and the Krafts' hand is forced in making sweeping changes to the FO and coaching staff.

Odunze only has 25 receptions in 8 games. He may not even be a factor regardless of who’s covering him….

I agree, AVP has Maye ready to play in the NFL. I would like to keep him as QB coach to provide continuity for Maye. I am out on him as the OC, he doesn't seem to know how to attack defenses. For instance, how does the running game get worse when teams stop stacking the box to respect Maye's ability to throw over the top?

Hmmmmmm were those Washington WR's a product of their system. Is that what the #9 Selection get's you these days?? Now I'm breathing a sigh of relief with Polk in the Second. I bet Chicago wished they had taken Brian Thomas Jr now.

So we have a First time guy calling plays and an a HC with no Coordinator experience... the Krafts are saving some $$$$$.

To me the real problem is that there is no one person kicking ass at the top of the organization. As an owner you are implicitly taking charge when you are building with inexperienced leadership. You can't go halfway and set the team adrift in the hope that Wolf or Mayo will figure out how to control the ship. RKK pushed BOB on the GOAT HC, yet lets Mayo and Wolf start the season without any real experience in the coaching staff.
