Not Taking the Wind is a Fireable Offense

His defense giving up about 170 yards rushing every week is way more of a problem than his cowardly decision.

You can always get a nerd upstairs to give you percentages you can't fix bad X's and O's, lack of philosophy and general sucky gameday coach.
Oh did you hear his explanation? He said he went for 2 in another game and got criticized.
He has no instincts or coaching knowledge, he is trying to not get criticized.

They are both problems.

The way this man weaseled his way to the position without any real credentials does not inspire any confidence that he can ever become a top 10 HC. Odds are always stacked against that happening even if you're a genius---but it's 1,000 times worse when you get there with no merit just by schmooching the boss.
Top 10? Im worry he isn’t top 100.

That was the first time in NFL history a team got the ball & the wind in OT. That takes historically bad coaching.

I think it’s safe to say that every JV Football coach in New England would have been able to figure out which way the wind was blowing & ensure the other team was throwing into the wind. But somehow “Thunder” Kraft hired a HC for an NFL team that was so overwhelmed that he couldn’t even take the wind in OT & cost his team the game. This is Head Coaching incompetence at a level that this league has never seen.

Can someone tell me what exactly Mayo does? He can’t coach the Offense. The front office wants to bring in help because he can’t coach the Defense. A Defense that can’t stop the run & gets worse every week. He calls himself a “CEO” & doesn’t do any actual coaching. He’s a complete failure at communicating to the media. He’s lost the locker room. His team is undisciplined & leads the league in penalties, He spends all of his time trying to look busy and sucking up to “Thunder”, but not adding any value. He doesn’t do a single thing well & has no business being the HC of any NFL team.
No it isn't.

Under Belichick the Broncos got both the Ball and the Wind in OT.

It was a very embarrassing moment for Matthew Slater.

Not claiming Mayo is the HC this team needs, but calling for him to he fired for something that happened to Belichick is hilarious

If he is not paying attention to critical details like wind direction, which other details is he not paying mind to?
Unfortunately we can point it out here but this guy is not going to get fired in year one period.

The main reason Bill got fired was because of his terrible cheap underqualified coaching staffs and disastrous front office and drafting and we've kept most of those bozos and just removed the guy with the elite defensive mind.

We literally got rid of the good part of Bill and kept all the crap that sunk the franchise and left them in power, the whole point of firing Bill was to move in a new direction and we did a crap reboot of the Patriots coaches that has never worked anywhere in the league for 20 years.

Shame we're going to waste another season before Kraft has to swallow his ego and do the complete clearout he should of done when he fired Bill.

You never should have gotten rid of Bill. You fired the greatest head coach in NFL HISTORY. It’s insane to me.

Kraft should have gently demoted Bill from scouting and GM, in a way that saves face, and left him as HC.

Belichick with Maye would do some damage.

Mcdaniels would make Maye MVP his rookie year.

To me it’s Johnson, Mcdaniels, Kingsbury, Brady Joe, Kellen Moore, Mike Vrabel.

To be fair, Bill wasn't going to do that. Bill thought there was no way Kraft would have the balls to fire him. And if he somehow did he would have a new job with a super bowl ready roster the next day. He was wrong on both assumptions.

To be even further fair the relationship was already considered broken, shattered may be a better word, by both sides.

He should of cleaned house and brought in a new football guy to run the team who could then pick a new GM and HC.

I think it's clear players do not like playing for McDaniels.

Johnson would be a coup. Kingsbury would be very interesting with Maye. After all he is a much bigger version of Kyler Murray, if you will. Being honest, pulling a blank on Brady Joe will have to look him up. Kellen Moore meh, not so sure about him. Vrabel was my choice last season. Him and McDaniels I think would work well.

But I would **** rainbows and unicorns if Kraft fired Mayo after just one season. I don't think he could bring himself to do it.

Believe all of us knew Mayo would be struggling at times with in game decisions and what not but this is funny and sad at the same time, inexcusable.

Campbell had a stellar staff and his first season ended with so much promise on overall basis.

We just have maye to look forward to. Rest of team is dumpster truck. The running backs and run offense should be ashamed that they are collecting free paychecks.

Our coaching staff is bottom of line compared even to college football.
Can't imagine this place if Mayo started 0-10-1 like Campbell. Through 9 games, they only scored 9 more pts than the Pats have so far (and gave up 43 more pts). That's with Goff, Amon, and Hock.

Mayo needs his Ernie Adams to make the in game decisions.

People mocking Mayo for that decision are not with the program. Choosing to throw into the wind is sneaky tanking at its finest. LOL
Hiring Mayo and AVP was sneaky tanking.
Actually....it was BLATANT tanking

Thunder Sr is probably too pickled to understand the scale of his folly but the ever-lurking, behind the scenes yet attached at the hip Thunder Jr has a diabolical plan and this clusterphuck of a season will be part of Thunder Sr's epitaph.

Listen to this analysis by Matt.. boy !! Is he super smart..

I am really okay to get Matt and McDaniels back....at least coachingight be better than what we are seeing now..

I don’t think they would risk their relationship with Bill unless there was a head coach offer. Even then they might not want to derail any future gravy trains.

I think AVP is a great QB coach and developer but not a good play caller. We need Brian dabol here!!!!
