If matters continue more or less as they are, should the Krafts fire Mayo at season's end?

The Krafts' role was to hire the right man for the job, on the basis of that candidate's football resume and skills, not because some old fool copped a man-crush on him.
He had a crush on BB too. He almost got brought up on tampering charges until he forked over a first to the Jets for him.

How many high draft picks did the weak ownership cost?
Zero. BB got the memo and tried to get cute with the rules rather than calling the league office for clarification.

Deflategate was a nothingburger but the only way the team could have done anything about it is to sue the league (same with Spygate). That's not going to happen as that's not how things are done. The only guy to do it was that nut that ran the Raiders.

I dont believe that anything happens until next season.

Wolf will get another draft with a sweet draft slot. Mayo gets year 2 of his tenure.

I'd say that the coaching on display yesterday would lead me to believe that Mayo should be fired at the end of the season. That was another terribly coached game.

Not sure why the players got 2 days off for barely beating the jets.

Mayo still had time to fix it, but yesterday was terrible

It will be interesting to see what happens at the end of the year. If Mayo is let go it means Kraft will have to admit he made a blunder. Not so sure that will happen. However if he does get fired then so does AVP and Covington. The entire coaching staff is out of their league and none of them are very good. But it all starts with getting a better GM and letting him make those changes.
Kraft has become very meddlesome, not so sure if many people would want to work for him. In reality we are probably stuck with Mayo till at least the end of the 2025 season. That’s a depressing thought .

Pats currently on the clock.
As of today, Truth.

who added the poll?

Mayo isn't the guy to lead us through this rebuild.

Even if BB worked thru his contract extension, this year or even the final year, I don't think he would be ready.

What Mayo lacks, and truth be told the entire staff, is experience. You can see it on the field in every game. Running a practice is one thing, but coordinating a game is another.

The decision to not go for two is a good example. One question I wish was asked, and if the was please give me the answer, is did the team have a two point play ready... It's a simple question... Were they prepared enough to cover that eventuality? I dunno...but seemingly they weren't.

Mayo chose to play offense INTO THE WIND in OT.
His explanation was the wind direction changed since the beginning of the game.
That is inexcusable

There really isn’t a need to call and ask what “for use during the game” means.
He didn’t “get cute”. He followed the rule and then they changed the meaning of it something it did not say.

He lacks more than experience. Choosing the wrong end of the field to defend because he didn’t check to see the wind changed isn’t experience, it’s a lack of commitment. Being a walking cliche with no accountability to it is a lack of commitment. Throwing your team under the bus and shielding yourself from blame is a lack of guts.
“Fixing” a problem that your team is soft 3 weeks to late and only facing it last 1 game, is a lack of leadership.
I cannot point to a single thing he has done well.

You guys hoping we get a new HC next year are going to be disappointed, Mayo's not going anywhere, it's a rebuild whether some want to admit it or not and Mayo's learning on the job. If next year's draft sucks, Wolf may be gone.

I wouldn't be so sure of that. The team is almost identical to last season and should actually be better given their draft position/money available in FA, but they are currently on pace to be shy of 4 wins from 2023. Bob fired Bill because he wants to get better. They are worse. Before the injury card gets thrown out there, they are part of the game and nobody gave Carroll that benefit of the doubt even though he still had a winning record in his 3 years coaching.

If a candidate like Johnson is interested to teaming up with Maye, you fire Mayo immediately if they don't win more 4 games this season.

AVP doesnt have a 2nd and 1 play correctly called before the half. i doubt he is wondering about 2 point plays.
