It's easy, and only takes a few moments. He was the favorite going into the season but I think Lamar and Allen are right there with him now. Chiefs are still winning though even if this isn't his best statistical season so far.@sb1 SB Mahomes is the MVP favorite. And odds are very good he will only get better.
I think "16-0" is worth bragging about. It's really hard to do. That's true about how it ended but after seeing the 2009 Colts punt on 16-0 instead of going for it that accomplishment went up a few notches in my book.16-0 isn't the Pats greatest claim. Unfortunately, most only remember how it ended. I think it's difficult to look back at that season fondly.
28-3 and SB 36 might be their greatest claim.
Yep that's one thing that's not talked about a lot. Their schedule was absolutely brutal. Still beat and often dominated those playoff teams. It's definitely an accomplishment. They beat a whack of playoff teams that year.
Great post. I say no. What we created over 20 plus season with 6 superbowls I believe KC comes close but doesn't surpass us.. simply becuase I don't believe Reid is coaching into his 70s and Mahomes is playing into his late 30s early 40s. Also remember there are other teams on the rise. 49ers, lions, Buffalo for example.I know it's a little early, but their only tough game is in two weeks at Buffalo. If they win there it's pretty doable after that. Their next toughest game will be a home game vs Houston and a road game in Pittsburgh in week 17. After that it's the rest of their division at home with Cleveland and Carolina thrown in.
Can they do it? If they do how would it change the Pats' greatest claims?
It's been amazing how I went from thinking that no team will ever come close to what the Pats have done but here I am a few short years later thinking that the Pats, Brady and Bill could all be looking up at KC, Mahomes and Reid in a few more years.
In the divisional, Jacksonville brung it to us and so did Chargers in the AFCCG.. both games are close. Our offense was less explosive in the playoffs than it had been in the regular season.Yep that's one thing that's not talked about a lot. Their schedule was absolutely brutal. Needed a bit of luck too - like how they lose to the 5-11 Ravens if DC Rex Ryan didn't call timeout.
And IIRC that also went back to the Miami and Jets games to close out the regular season. In the divisional, Jacksonville brung it to us and so did Chargers in the AFCCG.. both games are close. Our offense was less explosive in the playoffs than it had been in the regular season.
Find me a loss on the schedule.Reverse jinx?
That's when our defense started to decline.. Bruschi, Vrabel, Thomas were all 30 and over.. as well as seau. We had 50 plus sacks that season becuase teams had to throw. And IIRC that also went back to the Miami and Jets games to close out the regular season.
Let's see them do it first, then get back to us. It is funny how you just casually throw out "well if they do this thing which no one has ever done before and if they do that thing which no one has ever done in the Super Bowl era before....." like it's all so simple.I know I will get flamed. But if they go 20-0, with a threepeat, it's going to be near impossible to argue against Mahomes being the GOAT.
