This is the first game I am not able to watch in over 10 years I think. They have always had the Pats on over here no matter what. I guess no one wants to see an 2-6 and 1-5 team play !! Anyone know where I can stream the game ? I need my patriots fix !!!
I'm very intrigued by this game. I think it is a real test -- at least, for how I see the team and the coaching staff.
They've had two encouraging victories and two embarrassing losses (Jets 1 and Jacksonville). In the other losses there have been a few bright spots and reasonable excuses -- devastating injuries on the O-line and a terrible QB (although the latter was self-inflicted).
This week they have pretty much all of the O-linemen they could have expected to have with the exception of Andrews, D. And they have a promising, if inexperienced, QB.
So we're going to find out if AVP and Covington are over-matched. Does the team revert to its 2-yards-a-carry, run-it-on-first-down identity? Can the defense stop the run and find some kind of a pass rush? Can the coaches adjust on the fly?
Yes sir! The best thing they can do is continue to get better and better so by the end of the season when it's evaluation time the team can know for sure on the OL.. it's advantages for brown and lowe as the team will give them long term contracts.
No surprises there on the WR front they might as well just cut Tyquan now. They might get great a 7th for Bourne Pat Homers: the great Devante Adams only fetched a Fifth. Javon Baker please take advantage of your being dressed You have more talent than any of them.
I'd be fine with trading him: not quick enough to defense the pass as a safety, not big enough to play linebacker. He's also one of the few players on the roster you might actually get something for. He's a good player, but hardly indispensable.
Tyquan is going to remember that miserable drop he had last week for the rest of his miserable life. When Maye becomes a Hofer: Tyquan will remember dropping that perfect pass from him. All that speed is useless if you can't Catch Tyquan good bye and good riddance.
Can we see Polk and Baker shine today?
Thornton not panning out is incredibly disappointing.
Uche being signed and then traded, Dugger being signed then traded?
We have to be loading up something big like Metcalf.
If they are willing to give us Metcalf for a 2nd round pick, I do that deal in a heartbeat. He's the true #1 this team has been missing for many YEARS!

I was a huge Thornton fan he was my draft binkie but I was incredibly concerned when his college coach was shocked he want so early.
This gave me pause and concern

I think we can probably get modest but worthwhile value for him, so I would do the trade. His speed may be exceptional, but his play to this point has not been. There are always teams seduced by the measurables: let him go for whatever. The added benefit is that you can then give some of the rookie WR's a fuller trial before deciding which of them to ditch as well.
