Halfway mark check - how many wins for the Pats in 2024?

In the preseason prediction thread, I had us at 2-6 by this point, and I had four for the season. So feeling like it's 4 with a fifth possible.

I said 6-8. They can, but I don't have confidence in Mayo's game day management to win a close one. Clock management at the end of the first half vs Jete this week was horrific. The fact that they won will likely embolden Mayo that he was right. 5-6 is probably the number.

I don't know I'd even really call that clock management they have screwed up managing the clock going into half a few times already this season so it looked like they just took advantage of the Jets having no timeouts and just skipped the whole situation altogether.

Had we tried to manage it we'd have probably ended up given Rodgers a minute to try and score so it was probably one of Mayo's right decisions this year.

P.S. if we lose to Tenn I think this will be it and we end with 2 but I think if we win over Tenn that gets us to 3 and I think we can use 2 in a row to build off and I think we end with 6.

Tennessee, Arizona, Chicago, Miami and San Diego The Chargers are all winnable.

I'm on the record as saying 2-15, with the possibility of squeaking out a 3rd win...

Maye looks good, the the cast of characters around him doesn't...

With that said, I have seen nothing to change my mind...

Also the Rams are 3-4 and the last Bills game could feature some backups.

Is this the part where we say the Bills always benefit from being in the easy AFC Least easiest division in sports or something like that?

Bill's have the 49ers and Chiefs coming up and if we could beat them twice that's 6 losses. Just saying.

This week showed a big turnaround in play calling, game management by Mayo, the team being bought in and engaged, and several other things. So if they can build on this then I can see a small run happening, as the next slate of games (Titans, Bears, Rams, Dolphins, Colts, Cardinals) is not particularly challenging overall. If that happens I would guess finishing the season with 6 wins, as they grab 3 against the above group and then steal one from the two against Buffalo or from the Chargers at the tail end of the year. Maybe 7 wins if they really get it going.

If they do not build on yesterday’s win and revert back to form, though, then I would say perhaps 1 more win for 3 total on the year.

I predicted 5. I'll stand by that prediction assuming Maye is ok.
Becuase the defense was playing so badly I didn't project another win. However I can see 5 as well... 6 if we get lucky.

3 or 4 unless the WRs can learn to catch the football, don't let the win cloud how terrible they were again.

No one can seem to stop cook. Good thing for us is we won't have anything to play for come December.

The fewer wins the better. I had predicted three wins, which I will stick with, but I will hope we can resume our quest for a high draft pick next week. I am somewhat optimistic: Mayo is certainly the man for that job.

And how the hell are they going to find a way to lose to the Titans?

They truly are awful.

They'll find a way.

Before yesterday I would have said the same thing

But the Titans got their ass kicked and the Patriots somehow someway looked reasonable on offense.

That's why I was so pissed off about yesterday's win. If the Patriots lose to the Titans then maybe just maybe they can find a way back into the first overall pick but I'm guessing that they're not going to lose and they're going to eliminate any chance of the number one pick this weekend.

The Lions are good. The Pats are not.

I think you're a misunderstanding just how bad the Titans are.

And I just went over the Panthers schedule. There's zero chance they win another game so at best we're out here playing for number two.
