He was sliding and got clipped in the head. Nothing to do with the OL (which held up remarkably well against a potentially fearsome Jets' DL with Reddick also playing for the first time this season.

But must say the Jets DL had no rush discipline - kept leaving lanes for Maye to run.
That's probably the last time Maye will see that as teams won't do that anymore.

Was helmet to helmet mid-slide:

Thanks. Clears up the club question.

But I have to say I don’t see a flag on that.

If the guy on the left had hit him yeah. But Sherwood already goes in to start his tackle before Drake initiates his slide. I hate that blitzers have to figure what a QB is going to do in middle of a freakin step & somehow pull up if he flicks the ball or otherwise gets it off. I think the D needs a little bit of room/forgiveness.

It looks like main hit was bounce off turf and not a helmet hit.

Rodgers is cooked. Getting Saleh fired, but still can’t win will be a big stain on his career.

Jets defense is a poor man’s version of the late 2010’s Jaguars.

Are we watching the same clip? Absolutely blatant and clearly head to head contact.

It was REALLY good. If Brissett doesn't play another snap this year, that will still be a top 5 throw of the season no matter what Maye does
The slowmo replay where the ball is launched well before Boutte turns his head is poetry in motion. Baryshnikov ain't got nuthin' on that play.

Belichick got any opinions to share this week? Guessing radio silence like when we won week one.
“I feel so bad for those guys, they aren’t soft.”

Maybe they needed to be called soft for their soft ass performances. They played much harder this week, even if they gave up some plays.

Coaching may have been poor but he wasn’t wrong about the players execution and I never had a problem with Mayo’s comments.

We shouldn't underestimate just how bad the Jets are, however.
If TB12 had decided to play for them, even he'd get that stank. It's like the Jete propulsion from sugar free gummy bears (IYKYK).

He's a giant skid mark stain on that roster ... more than once he was seen smirking as they were losing.
That being said ... what a sorry ass way to end a borderline HOF careeer

And better oline. But I do think it's a thing a lot of mobile quarterbacks go through, realizing the length of their career hinges on not becoming a runner too often.
Thing is, I think Maye already knows this. There were several runs where he scrambled out of the pocket but instead of immediately shooting upfield, he ran real wide and basically edged along the line of scrimmage for as long as possible so if something came open he could still throw it. Then once he just about ran out of field to run through horizontally, he either finally turned upfield or threw it away. Saw it more than once.

So in general I think he's aware of this and is actually showing a veteran understanding of it - he's sliding too - the last little piece here is that he needs to slide well before contact arrives, not just before. If defenders are two steps away from tackling distance on you, it's too late to slide. Gotta do it where everyone has more than ample time to see that you've done it and can all pull up. You'll give up a few yards in the process, but that's the name of the game. Either do that or commit to getting every yard and run head first into the thick of it.

Amazing that when the Pats got "blown out" by the Jets earlier this year, the Jete only scored 24 and would've lost today.

Yes, and I expect that to get better with time, too. He seems a lot further ahead on these things than some rookie college QBs.
