Why don't any of you have patience?

I feel like we’re stuck on semantics. The Washington Redskins/Commanders haven’t won a playoff game since 2006. Has it been an 18 year rebuild or have there been multiple rebuild attempts in there?

Kraft got tired of belichick. I get it. He wanted the credit for the dynasty and how can you do that when bb is still here?
I would imagine a control freak who isn’t winning is not a fun employee.

The problem is Kraft wanted to prove he deserved the credit so he hired a literal nobody as his coach.
Remember when people said patriot coaches said they could win a Sb with an average qb?
Kraft literally believed he could win with a mediocre coach so he hired the Marcus Marita of head coaches.
I agree Kraft got tired of Belichick and once he wasn’t winning and the roster looked like **** he was easier to let go.

I don’t agree Kraft believed he could win with a mediocre coach. Whatever anyone thinks of Kraft he is not an idiot. He seemed to buy into Mayo as a leader and as a person and believed he would be a good head coach. As others have said Mayo’s nickname when he played was Jerod Belichick.

The problem is that Kraft made his mind up about Mayo without looking at all options. Same with Wolf, who has been a part of our ****ty drafts for years. Kraft should have looked at all options and then made his choice.

I would want nothing to do with Flo being the head coach for Maye. How is any franchise gonna sell him as the head coach to develop a QB?
I know Patriots fans love to crap all over Tua even though we have never beat him but that team wins games with him. I don’t think he is some superstar but he is a capable starter and Flores seemingly did everything he could to hinder Tua's development. Not a guy I want around Maye.

In fact if/when we move on from Mayo I want an entire staff without a single tie to Bill and the organization. If you ever spent a single minute in the building as a New England Patriot I don't want you on a future coaching staff.

Well said, I don’t think Mayo will be let go this year but if things don’t turn around he won’t get a 3rd year. If we move on after next season clear out the whole building and bring in a new vision.

Flores was 8-9 both seasons and he did not hinder tua. Tua was crap until he got cheat codes in waddle and hill . Without them tua is crap.

Flores is killing it in vikings now and would be wiser after initial experiment

Flores wanted Herbert and management thrust tua into him and he had to do with his shortcomings. Flores was all around right. With Herbert , fins would not be in the position they are in now.

ha, ya, I'm not saying they were (or are) good. But I still think they were competitive in that game, albeit with another bad team.
How is a blowout loss against a bad team 'competitive', exactly?

We need a new OC and no new OC worth his salt will want to come under Mayo.

If Mayo wants to retain his job, it hinges on Ben McAdoo and AVP. Maye is too good a prospect to waste time with underperforming OCs.

I don’t care who he wanted and who he didn’t and whatever anyone thinks of Tua. It’s clear you can win games with him and Flores seemed more interested in being pissed he didn’t get the guy he wanted instead of developing the guy he did have. I think he may have learned from it but to be honest I don’t want a Bill disciple as the next coach and I don’t want a defensive coach next time either.

Valid point , but Flores seems to have his own path unlike Josh or Matt and seems to have found success outside of pats. He was successful in both Pittsburgh as well as vikings and moderately successful with dolphins. Not a bad choice considering nobody good wants to join us. Candidates are avoiding us like plague . Beggars can't be choosers.

We not only as fans but as society expect results instantly. When it comes to everything these days. And us being spoiled ie great for 20ish years, expected a fast, competent, and competitive turnaround, myself included. As I’ve said before BB wasn’t able to get things turned around and got the ship sinking. Mayo was to save us or be the stop gap/scapegoat somehow till our next winning season(s). Huge expectations usually lead to huge letdowns though. I can’t see HJBK et al letting him go halfway through the season. He would have to make ANOTHER documentary about how much good he’s done trying to prove he did the right thing. Ultimately him letting staff go without even a year under their belt will make them look bad (if that’s possible atm). I could see some warning shots across the bow/lighthouse to let them know he’s serious. Maybe fire some lowly assistant or ball boy. That would scare em!

With 8.22 left in the game (roughly halfway through the fourth quarter), they were a missed extra point away from making it a one-score game. Jacksonville got a garbage touchdown at the end cuz we went for it on 4th and 26 inside our 20. I'm not saying we played great or even well, but that doesn't strike me as a blowout. I guess different views on what constitutes a blowout?

[edit] for me, a blowout is what the Celtics did to the Knicks last night, ya baby!

I counted 3
Stone hands and butterfingers by Jax defenders enables us to maintain a heightened level of giddiness about Maye....vs fretting about 5-6 turnovers in his first 2 games.
There's enough actual problems to worry about with this team that we don't have to make them up.

We'll see about the AVP or the new AVP decision after the season. AVP is learning on the job along with Maye, and AVP may be here next year, or not.

DEFENSE
Mayo was supposed to be the great defensive mind, being the co-DC and learning from BB these past years. He was supposed to be sooo good at developing defensive schemes and calling plays that we would be OK with the very inexperienced Covington as our DC.

OOPS!
The Kraft's should have known better. Not a lot was needed, just a Senior Advisor or Assistant Head Coach to be in charge of the Defense. Sure, that would have been hard to get. But Kraft should have been able to find someone to fill this role for one season.

AND YES
Someone needs to sit down with Mayo and help him understand how to deal with the media and with regard to how to discipline his players (NOT in public). Yell at them, put them down if you must, but not in public.

Apparently, the Patriots are the Instructional League for coaches in the NFL.
Cue the Duckboats.

Never ever heard this

Bob has been on a reverse heater the past half decade....the Eddie Mush of decision making, both organizationally and in life.

Bill's contract obligation weighs heavy on Bob
Truthfully, spending any money weighs heavily on Bob.
BB concurs

According to Mayo, Stacy James has been tasked with mitigating his diarrhea of the mouth disorder.
Regarding the discipline situation, one has to ask what Mayo was up to during the decade and a half when he had a front row seat watching Belichick operate.

What a fevered imagination you have.

I had the patience to watch Tony ****ing Eason…this is nothing for me. . Yes this sucks…

I like that name, the Redskin Commanders.
