Patriots Player Departure Schefter: Nick Leverett released

Leverett has been a turnstile all season. No suprise he’s gone. The rest of the interior OL, including the new C, has performed better than him which is really saying something as bad as our OL has been; especially in pass protection.

I believe this also signifies that Strange is on his way back.

Jake Andrews was the draft pick who was supposed to be the center backup, but he's on IR for the year.

Jake the Latest Fake was a Bust from the microsecond he was drafted over TWO full rounds before his talent rated. He was never, Ever a viable game-day backup C/G active.

We'll see.

You do realize he actually played a couple games last year after coming off I/R and he played very well at LG.

He was much better than Sidy Sow.

I don't buy that he was overdrafted either since the reporters interviewed 2 other teams that wanted him in the 4th. In fact, we traded up for him.

Look, I was criticizing the drafting of Marte Mapu like you were all summer long.

Now we flash forward to these last 2 weeks and Mapu is all over the field making plays. He's like a more effective Kyle Dugger. And meanwhile, Dawand Jones not only has been benched he's been an absolute sieve.

This is a reasonable take.

Yep, the position’s been ignored ever since Mongo left for pastures too green for us to match… and Jake the Latest Fake does NOT count as addressing the position either: that was a Clown pick by a Clown front orifice.
I just completely ignore that Jake Andrews is even on the team, as everyone rightly should until proven otherwise.

It is terrible that our #3 center did work out.

Jake had a couple of good games as a rookie. He’ll be given a chance in camp. I think that he s better than who we now have, but we’ll see next ear.

If he can stay healthy. I hope he's working hard to improve. Even then, I'd draft a Center that is solid and can start on Day 1. If Andrews turns into something decent, then having two of those guys will be very beneficial.

OL needs to be fixed in free agency before the draft. We can't be counting on rookies again. Or trades if necessary.

They might be able to get one quality starter, but I doubt that starter will be young, and I doubt it'll be a LT. The pickings are slim for young and decent OL in 2025 FA. I'm not a fan of giving up any picks in the first 3 rounds for older OLinemen.

Gotta do what you gotta do

Agreed. The jury is still out on Mapu and J Andrews but there is reason to be positive about both. They need to stay healthy and perform.

I would want Ben brown to be put in a position to succeed so that he becomes the center of future. We need some lady luck on Oline and Ben brown can start the odds

Nice story but we are a long way away from declaring him our center of the future. I still expect them to try Strange there too.

It's hard to find quality linemen in FA. Teams usually pay their good OL.
