Agreed. But we need to use 2024 to get us in better position in March. Maye playing is vital for alot of reasons.

1. Need to keep the fan base engaged as without the fans the organization doesn't profit no matter what other endeavors they have.

2. Need to become an attractive destination for FAs if guys see maye playing as a rookie it will show them it's worth coming here. No one is coming here with an unknown rookie prospect. Maye playing is so crucial to how we get better overall in 2025.
IF Maye is actually ready. If he comes out and still needs dveelopmental experience and is struggling with game speed, it could easily become a net negative. Being marginally better than Brissett isn't going to cut it

He needs to learn

Nix, Williams, Daniel’s are getting better every week.

I just believe the teams looking for a spark.. organizations change QBs all the time.. the Panthers did it. Thier offense looks far better with Dalton. Sometimes change is needed. I don't think anyone her is expecting us to suddenly become a offense powerhouse. Simply looking competent would be a level up from what we have now.
I am still pretty dumfounded that Maye did not get anytime against SF or Miami

There is an age difference there. Some of them had more experience in college as well which makes them more NFL ready.

We all knew this.

They won’t get those high quality FAs unless they show that their team is actually going to do something. Being the literal worst team in the league isn’t going to sell anyone to come to Foxborough MA. You’d have to WAY overpay.

Finishing 5-12 or 6-11 after a 1-4 start and then switching to the kid shows free agents that you’ve got your **** together and you’re moving in the right direction, and you are still likely to have a top 10 pick. Sure, getting multiple 1sts would be nice and all but that’s still only a few total players. I would rather have the one guy they select with their top 10 pick and then use all their cash to plug other holes and take advantage of having a QB on a rookie deal right now, not in 3 years once that “haul” has finally been fully utilized but free agents still don’t want to come here.
Perfectly put!! Continuing to look like this does nothing for the future of this team. I just have come the the realization that no Matter how much $$$ you have as an organization your not going to get difference makers here. You may be get lower tier players but no game changers.

Playing Maye and allowing him to go through his rookie lumps and grow.. is better off.. he will grow and show more than what we are forced to witness each week. At this point we're 1-5 as of Sunday. If wolf wants real FAs here and not the lesser tier players then he needs to have maye on display.

Too me.. it has looked like Brissett is the rookie.. throwing guys in bounds, taking dumb sacks.. ugh..

Understand. What you have to under is Brissett isn't going to get better maye will. No QB is a finished product however the organization k own this better than anyone. As @Ross12 perfectly put if maye doesn't play the organization next season won't be any better.

Doesn’t matter fact remains he isn’t learning anything valuable watching Jacoby

He’s learning how not to die. He’s been working on blitz pickup the past couple weeks…fact. The team is clearly tanking for a haul of picks next year. I’m willing to wait for him to learn more on the sidelines, for the OL to get better and for a better team of the future with better players with a draft haul instead of going to a McDonalds drive thru.

Different situations, different levels of NFL readiness. Maye immediately goes behind the worst line and is in the race for the worst pass catching group.

Totally agree. If this is being done due to just Kraft pressure , then the org is clueless and even maye development cannot stop us from being basement dwellers.

That's why I feel this might be some level of intervention coming up from NFL higher ups including goodell.

The plan might have been to trot out brissett till London, but considering the focus on expanding bases, NFL might have threatened kraft into playing maye for London and delivering a. Good product on field, else fining and docking them picks for intentionally sabotaging season.
So when the Pats are so good that the rest of the league can’t compete, the league takes their draft picks

But,

When they are too bad, the league threatens to take their draft picks.

Got it!

I think…

Wouldn't it be something if Maye Starts and get over the 200yds mark passing.

Imagine if we even scored 2 touchdowns in a game!!!!!

Brissett isn’t there to get better. He’s there to keep a seat warm

What he is compared to Brissett is irrelevant.
The reason for him to play is to get experience.
2024 is over. We are playing for 2025. Whether he is an improvemebt or decline from Brissett doesn’t matter. We aren’t winning with brissett, so let’s gain something from losing by getting next years QB experience so he is better prepared for 2025.

You assume he gains something by going in early if he’s not ready.

You could have Zach Wilson throwing a million interceptions. He’s there to not make enough mistakes for an uproar
Zach Wilson in his career has put up an average of 16.44 points per game and thrown 25 ints in 34 games.

I would take that extra few ints to be able to increase our points by 33%
