Last year the Patriot defense ranked 5th in fewest points per drive and had the 4th in lowest scoring percentage in the league... this without Judon, Gonzalez and Marcus Jones. The defense was top five in allowing scoring despite being on the field more than any defense in the league.

It's hard to see because the offense was ranked 32nd worst, dead last... but the offense was Jonathan's pet project, he and Wolf wanted Mac, they both wanted Juju over Meyers, they hired the offensive coaches. The 32nd worst offense was the result of collaboration and a power struggle between the owner and his head coach. The owner ultimately fired the head coach and now we're great... right?
Twice-fired head coach Belichick now has no job in the league because he did such a great job last season... right?

He fired - justifiably - a failed GM and HC. He then failed to put in in place a competent replacement management team, or at least so the evidence to this point would strongly suggest.
The current GM was here in 2021 as part of the collaboration that the owner announced to the world at the owners meeting.

He's got roughly 100M in the bank, a 24 year old cheerleader girlfriend and is earning big bucks as an analyst.

He's not going to take a bad job just so he has a job.

Nobody wanted him and judging by the team he coached over the last 2 seasons rightfully so.

If he wasn't going to take a "bad job" then that's all the more reason he should have retired the day Brady left. There was no upside to him staying here after that and he would have preserved his legacy. Maybe if he did that the Pats would now have an experienced HC 4 seasons later and back in contention.

When there’s a few jobs open, a couple of them are terrible situations with bad owners or come attached to bad GM’s… yeah, don’t take a bad job.

Vrabel doesn’t have a job either, does he suck?

You’re the most biased poster here, plus you’re some terrible at understanding football. The adults are talking…

Better yet... don't be the worst GM and one of the worst coaches in the league for your last two seasons and you won't get fired.

More likely he is regarded around the league as overrated. I tend to agree with that. What has he ever won?

Blah blah blah

Blah blah blah
Is that the sound your Bill pom poms make? Better fix them or your hoodied hero will be disappointed.

If NFL had relegation like Soccer, Pats would have to play in the Revere PAL football league right now.
Don't laugh, there are wiseguys there who bet on those games. At least, there used to be when I still lived in Beantown and um,er was very vaguely acquainted with some of the fine Italians in Revere. Vaguely, I said.
