How Disappointed Will You Be Starting 0-4 or 1-3?

1-3 seems to be our magic #. 4 years in a row now lol

I'll be more upset when they are 1-5, and if they lose to the Jags I can easily see them going 1-16

It is not the 1-3 that bothers me, it is the fact that this is a directionless franchise with a lot of questions regarding who is running what.

They had a golden opportunity to get better in the draft and completely botched it.

Well we have a QB who can't Throw it a RB who loves to Cough it up and aThird and First Defense. To sum it all up a recipe for winning.

Because they have a star QB for those years?
No so sure Jets came flying back to earth with a whopping 9 points scored... we both suck.. will be the battle of the bottom feeders. The line is a disaster, the QB sucks, the defense is dismantled by injuries.. probably lost andrews for some time, dugger as well.

I really don't care if we only win 2 or 3 games. Just want to see us getting better, showing ambition and playing with some element of positivity for the future. At the moment I'm really not sure what we're doing other than going through the motions. At best we're treading water. At best. In reality, we're drowning.

To be fair, the Pats were able to pump up their records at the expense of the Jets, Dolphins and Bills. The rest of the schedule games were as much about measuring and preparing for the playoffs than win for a good record. The 2024 team is in the opposite position as the weakest in the division with a 4 win schedule against the rest of the league.
This team is a incomplete, flawed non talented, bottom roster in the NFL. Now add in injuries Barmore, Andrews, dugger, Bentley all team leaders and top players. The defense is constantly out on the field.. the only way in my opinion is whenever Drake gets out there we can at least see if the offense will have better flow.

I can't argue with anything you said here. This will be a long season that will not be defined by their record. My list for getting things in line over the rest of the year is the following.
1. Get healthy and stable on the OL. This might be tough with new injuries every game.
2. Do something about zone pass defense. Either change when it is used or fix it
3. Transition to Drake if he is really executing in practice

Agreed 100% there. The OL is in constant flux. There is no continuous continuity there.. and they were actually "ok" yesterday the QB as we all know is the problem.. zone defense is being played because they are worried about Bing beat over the top wich they did repeatedly yesterday. J. Jones.. he's had a rough season.. gonzo and peppers are our best players in the secondary.. the communication on defense has suffered since Bentley went down. I can bet you it's a struggle against Miami..

Can these two elements go hand in hand?

Luckily, NE has arrived at a point in the schedule that features multiple troubled teams.
Bill excelled against the weak sisters of the NFL.
Time for Mayo to put some lipstick on this.............

I think so i.e. If we lost a few barn burners 33-30 with vastly improved QB/Offensive play I'd take that as more of a positive than winning a few 10-7 snoozefests. Maybe just me.

It's extremely frustrating because they have the guys to man up. Pretty sure our worst plays have come when we are in zone.

My biggest concern is that, if it took them three seasons to build to where they were yesterday, how long will it take to get where they want to be?
But, let's step back and get a little perspective on the great dynasties of the Super Bowl era and the time from their last SB appearance to their next win. It's really hard to do what the Pats, Packers, Cowboys (2x), Steelers and Forty Niners did and what the Chiefs are doing:

Lombardi/Starr Packers (two SB wins plus three old NFL Championships, one after the merger, but before the "Superbowl")
Last: SB II 1968
Next for Franchise: SB XXXI 1997
29 Years

Landry/Staubach Cowboys
(two wins in five SB's; dominated NFC with two SB losses to the Steelers)
Last: SB XIII (L to the Steelers) 1979
Next for Franchise: SB XXVII 1993
14 Years

Knoll/Bradshaw Steelers (four SB wins)

Last: SB XIV 1980
Next for Franchise: SB XL 2006
26 Years

Johnson-Switzer/Aikman Cowboys (three SB wins)

Last: SB XXX 1996
Next for Franchise: SB ??
28 years and counting

Walsh/Montana (4 SB Wins) and Seifert/Young (1 SB Win) Forty Niners
(considering it one Dynasty because Young backed up Montana)
Last: SB XXIX 1995
Next for Franchise SB ??
29 Years and counting

Reid/Mahomes Chiefs (3 SB Wins...and counting?)
Last: SB LVIII 2024
Next: Still going?

They are gonna be 1-6 before they get the ship righted.

Franchise is in shambles. Awful coaching. Awful front office. Clueless, aging owner and his nitwit son
yup, this was one of the reasons for the thread

I know you never heard me say this name before. Lol jaire Alexander at CB opposite gonzo.. we have the cap room to make a trade. Wolf has close GB ties. Another reason I was hoping we'd be competitive this season becuase we need to attract guys to sign here. However Mayo's wife is the only one he's likely telling Brissett sucks.

Why would GB trade him? And why would we want to give up draft picks right now? It’s not like we are a CB away from being a good team.

Starting 0-4 is fine. Going 0-17 isn’t. I think we started 0-4 a few times with Brady even so no biggie…
going 0-17 would be great if you ask me. As long as they can draft well and add veterans in FA, we will be a better team each year...that's how a rebuild works

Didn't say GB would trade him was just an idea.
