This was never going to be a great season

Instead we got the ghost/shell of Scam Newton, a bad OL, and the rest. Even if we kept the behemoth Mr Brown, we would still be here. As previously discussed, the cupboard was woefully left bare. We have been terrible and with all the changes, hopefully things will start to get dialed in so we can finally get out of bottom feeder status within the next decade…. :O
The one thing that everyone can agree about TB12's exit is that the team did not expect him to leave when he did. My personal opinion is that Brady leaving was the right thing for all involved and that the big three all own part of that outcome. Trying to pretend that Stidham or Cam were sufficient to replace the best QB ever is where BB fell flat on his face. Things would be better now if BB/Kraft bit the bullet and started a true rebuild then instead of wasting multiple years trying bubble gum and bandaids.

Yup.

This season is year 1 of the rebuild. Should have been 2020.

however as I've been consistent I blame him and the organ for the state of the o line.. Lowe, Wheatley, Anderson were not starting level player's. At this point just play Robinson and Wallace.

You forgot we had Okorafor - personally signed by Wolf. And we had the knowledge that the OL sucked hind tit last year so we all knew something had to change. So we signed Okorafor. Smooth.

That's where Mapu should have been taken but BB even went one further and Traded up for Chad Wide-Left in the Fourth. We could have done so much better in that Draft.
The 2023 draft was a FABULOUS draft. So much better? Dude chill.

Well a few more games and we'll see more realistic standings at Tankathon.

Yes absolutely. You made some good points. Go figure. Andy Dalton In one game this season has more production than Brissett. Who has 1TD and 368 yards. On the season!UNREAL.!

Let's hope Maye is fabulous. 2023 gave us Gonzo, White, Sow, Baringer, Douglas, plus maybe Mapu, J Andrews, and Boutte work out. We missed on the kicker and some people continuously repeat the 1 miss over and over.
Yes 2023 was great. I really, really feel great about my guy Maye.. I love his attitude, his confidence, he never gets to high or to low.. he's very balanced. Guys got an arm like Josh Allen. Damit I want him to play.. LOL

I agree. Also Maye is so honest about his mistakes so he is not afraid to face any issues and fix them. Brady got better every year, Maye might do the same.

trying to develop late round draft picks to start on the OLine.
You say that like your hoodied hero didn't try to do exactly the same thing...

Brady leaving was the right move based on how long Brady had left and where the team was. The problem was what happened after as you said. Instead of Belichick and Kraft accepting that the 2014-2018 run was done and that the team needed a total overhaul, they tried to patchwork the team thinking Bill could work some non existant magic and make them competitive.

We are paying for that now. The bottom fell out last year and the team is no closer to being rebuilt than it was when Brady left. Which I mostly blame on Bill.

I could honestly go back to 2018 when we didn't resign Cooks and traded him and then tried to replace him with Matthews and then that failed in camp and we had a WR circus that we followed up with the following year having a dumb camp rotation. We never had any quality or stability there since. Then all the lineman that we let go and didn't feel like paying. Then the free agency spending spree in 2021 that didn't pan out where it seemed like we passed on the best guy to find bargains. Or all the veterans on defense that were aging out that Bill started paying so we couldn't cut bait earlier and adequately address replacing. Then the 2023 draft being defensively frontloaded when offense was a huge problem.

To be fair people keep repeating Gonzo as a huge success and some sort of mega stud for 3 games last year when he's been burned pretty bad since coming back.

More fluid hips talk than teenage girls talking about Elvis in the 50's.

If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck I'm going to call it a duck.
Sb1 wasn't bashing BB. I think we've all moved past that. The topic came about.. regarding how we got here.. as it wasn't any overnight thing. IMO wolf can't fix everything in one off season. We got the most important piece we all can agree in maye. Watching a starting QB in the NFL with 1 TD and 368 yards on the season should be plenty reaffirmation Drake should be playing. Go figure Andy Dalton had more productivity in 1 game then Brissett has had in 3 games.

@signbabybrady

We didn't get to where we are now overnight it was a gradual decline. We made the playoffs in 21 and haven't been back. So this season will have been the 3rd consecutive season we miss the playoffs. It's Not about bashing Bill or anything it's about recognizing where we went wrong, how we got there.

We have maye.. as you heard me say plenty I've come to realize Brissett isn't going to be anymore than what he is now. So get the OL starters back and play Drake. I'd rather loose with Drake playing then gaining nothing by playing Brissett.
