This was never going to be a great season

How was the plan solid? The plan was to get not acquire a single solitary LT and sign a RT in free agency and draft a RT. The result was they not only didn’t get a LT they didn’t get a RT either and had to move our RG out of position to RT.
Please explain where you see there was a different plan, other than making one up and pretending they wanted to do differently than they did.
Please explain in a specific manner whom the Pats should have signed this past offseason in free agency who you know for certain would have been an improvement over what they did. Be sure to include the salary they signed for. I’ll give you one name: Tryon Smith, a fine player who hasn’t played a full season in 8 years but who is definitely better than Lowe or the Quitter.

Just to be clear, I am not saying signing the Quitter and keeping Lowe were not lousy decisions, I just want you to go on the record about who exactly you think they should have acquired since you assiduously avoid doing that in your hundreds of posts on this topic. At least some here, notably @Wozzy, are willing to be specific about it.

This fiasco didn’t start this year or 2023 with out of shape Trent Brown, or 2022 when Patricia put Wynn at RT after picking up his 5th year option when it was evident that guy wanted out of here. We can blame Wolf if we want but IMHO this was as big a **** up by BB as his crap handling of the GOAT, the LG position, or the WR position.

Look I have posted free agents lists.
You can go see for yourself who was available.
I’m not going to waste my time when people with blinders on request chores to be done to prove that when you out crappy players on the field their wee better ones available.
Do the work yourself.

Belichick was not the guy who had, after signing its own free agents, returned 85-90% of last years team and had $60,000,000 and a full draft, 3rd in each round to improve the team. The guy who had that out a team on the firld Thursday where the only improvement over last year was a marginal (if that) improvement at back up RB.

If you want to say Wolf inherited the worst roster in the league, then why couldn’t he improve it with 60 mill and a draft?
Instead you are blaming the failures of the off season on 4 years ago.
I imagine that’s what happens when you have an agenda.

But in my haste to respond to your tangential comments distracting from the topic, I didn’t address the topic either.

So you think there was a solid plan this offseason?
Exactly what was it? Wouldn’t a solid plan show an inkling of improvement?

Shorter version of this: you don't want to put yourself on the record about whom exactly they should have signed. That's what I challenged you to do, and you refused to do so specifically.

The other two paragraphs in your post above are insanely contradictory to what I actually posted.

You are not nearly as good at this as you think you are, in spite of nearly 65,000 posts on this forum.

“agenda”

The same jokers ^ will be blaming BB three years from now.

This year was never going to be a great season because Wolf blew the OLine build… end of story.

Winning those 10 games wouldn’t have made this a good team. It would have made us an average-ish team that took advantage of weaker opponents and couldn’t hang with the big boys.
A team that needed to fix the Qb and use its 60 Mil and draft to upgrade the weaknesses and improve the team to work toward being a legit contender. Fix the OL, upgrade a few soots on both sides of the ball and draft a qb and you can contend and grow with the qb.

Instead we took a year off and banked some money

Well one way or another it seems like we are all finally on the same page regarding what this team needs and has needed for some time now. it felt like in seasons past when people were pointing out the obvious glaring issues with the team at OL/WR and the operation in general all we heard in response was mac jones this/ mac jones that and no acknowledgement on the faults of the coach/gm who had 4 years to build us a winner, until February when we suddenly started hearing nonstop about the gm and coaches who have had…. half a year thus far to fix a 4-13 team.

We can't force guys to sign here. We have no attraction here. Drake is the only attraction and if he had a chance to show his talents we would be better off. You and I agree that Drake should be playing.

But until he plays and shows his abilities we will not be a destination. That is why as fan I want so badly for us to look like a team on the come up this season. What the poster is saying basically is we Saw a bright light with Mac after cam, 7-9 , 10-7 made the playoffs, then we've missed the playoffs.. it's a reason why we are where we are now it wasn't a overnight process.

Barmore, dugger, ownenu, peppers. Invested In our guys.

I have no problem with those players being retained.
Barmore was signed way too early and now who knows what happens going forward.

Dugger is very overpaid.

Peppers is fine.

Owenu was another overpay has been horrible.

I was ok with letting BB go after years of this team not drafting well and having one of the worst rosters in the league, but I’m still scratching my head on why Kraft got rid of BB but decided to keep the management team that supported him and were part of those bad drafts.

A complete football novice could tell you the Pats o-line is hot garbage yet Wolf did next to nothing to address it. That is alone is a fireable offence. The Krafts have to have a serious discussion about cleaning house on the roster decision makers. The Pats right now are a joke.

There’s a lot of media members and QB fanboys who resent BB and have agendas.

So we have to read this dreck and watch them kidnap every conversation about 2024 and bring it back to Tom leaving because his wife wanted to live in Florida and he didn’t want to lose a year to a rebuild.

Hero worshipping man children… basically.

Oh so it's not a CoLLaBoRaTioN now. Funny how that works.

This was a three year transfer of power, Bob was in decline. Jon took over operations, hired Wolf. Had his dad talk about collaboration in 21’ and Mayo was hand picked.

Jon wanted his team back, his inheritance. He wants to make his own mark. The last three years was a power struggle.

They had all the resources of any team in the NFL this offseason and a returning top flight defense.

2024 is on this collaborative, it has nothing to do with the past… other than our only good players are the ones who were already here.
