They adjusted to him. Number 1, he was jittery in the pocket, so they knew he was gutless. Number 2, the flooded the middle of the field because he wouldn't throw an out. The guy is really a bad QB, and it's easy to adjust to him.

Last 6 games he threw for 8 TDs and 7 INTs. That includes the 50-10 win over Jax where he threw 3 TDs and 0 INTs.

These #s in the final 3rd of 2021 were very very similar to what he did the next 2 years.
Nah they didn’t have to adjust to anything..he was drafted as a low ceiling high floor guy and teams defended him accordingly.

And why shouldn’t the Jax game count? That game was literally the difference between making the playoffs and not making them- ask Miami how that turned out.

He had an 87 rating in his last 6 games of 01. That’s a lot closer to average than anything worse.

Who said it didn't count? I included it.

It was obvious they adjusted to him. Early on he was throwing over the middle. Then they flooded the middle when they saw he couldn't throw to the boundaries.

I don't care what he was drafted as.

His numbers in the final 3rd were worse than they were under Patricia. And they lost a bunch of games.

Shanahan gonna school Covington is my gut feeling.

Based on what, exactly? Their ability to be turnstiles and not charge a fare? Not needing matador capes to ole' the defensive lineman in front of them?

Neither of them can play. Even a little. Neither of them. Here's one excellent example:

Wallace and Jordan, beaten instantly, on a very basic stunt. Robinson, completely overpowered, needed Onwenu AND Andrews to help TRIPLE TEAM the DT just so Brissett wouldn't die.

The only player who held his block for more than a second on this play was Rhamondre Stevenson, and he was on a block-and-release.

On that particular play, it's tough for me to put much blame on the rooks. MJ pushed his guy into Wallace, and Robinson was probably expecting more continued help from Onwenu before the latter moved his failed attention to Rham's guy. If it really was a catch and release, then Brisk should've immediately dumped it off to Rham.

Purdy gets knocked for playing with great talent but he’s actually good,
If 49ers are healthy in playoffs I have a hard time seeing them losing, of course they already struggling with injuries but maybe all those guys are good to go at end of year.
We get them at the right time but tough matchup, then our schedule lightens up and hopefully they go to Maye week 5
Didn't watch the game but no Deebo, Kittle, and CMc, and the offense still looked good. Heck, he made a 7th Rd less than JAG look good today.

The JETS showed the NFL how to defend the Pats. Week 1, when there was no tape, is immaterial at this point. Don't forget how Mac Jones collapsed at the end of his rookie season because every team similarly adjusted their defense. Mac could not adjust. Same thing here. Can the OL and Brissett adjust to the JETS blueprint? Not a chance.
Every team except the Jags who lost 50-10 against 22-30 227yds 3TDs 0INTs Mac.

It's the shanny offense, those boys have it down to a science. I would put gonzo on Jennings and put Jones and a safety to watch ayik. If there was ever a chance to steal a win it would be now against SF.

18 million over 2 years would have gotten you Tyron Smith and John Simpson. That's what the Jets paid. Maybe it would have been 20. Or 25. That still leaves around 40 million under the cap, assuming you don't sign Okorafor, and THEN you can draft a left tackle in 2025 to develop for when Smith's contract is up.

You can still do all the other signings you did, draft exactly like you did, and think about just how markedly better this team would be, with a very small investment.

Also, very likely a playoff team, or at the very least, they wouldn't be terrified to put Drake Maye back there.

But hey, at least we're sitting on 50 million, right? Keep that powder dry.
Honestly just looking at it full view I really thought the thinking was one of those guys being lowe, Okorafor, Wheatley or Anderson would work out. So that is likely why there was no heavy pursuit. I'm just doing my best to guess. But your right. That's why we have to endure watching Brissett and not Drake becuase of something that could have been prevented had a real LT been signed.

After seeing this state of this OL we should be carrying 4 qbs. Sign Zappe off the KC practice squad.
Glad to see people hopping on the 4 QB train. I've been riding since the preseason. I doubt Zappe signs (been jerked around enough by the Pats), but someone else could be had. Or they can send out Milton, but if Maye has any fire at all he won't stand for that.

Maybe have three QBs active.

How negative would it be to bring in Milton without Jacoby and Maye being injured?

Hell, work up plays for both of them to keep SF off balance.
I'm fine with having anyone who is not named Maye playing behind this line. The best course would be to sign a vet backup ASAP.

In wich I cannot understand how he's not involved in the game. He's not on the inactive list.
Maybe he has stone hands? Maybe he does not practice well? Boutte is playing in front of him so he is last in the rotation.

Yeah could be. His speed would be a great thing to see at this point.

What speed? He ran a 4.54sec 40 at the combine. He is not fast. Slower than DaVante Parker. He can still play in the NFL, but the DBs are all faster than him.

Well that's what he was sold on was his speed. So I mean either he can play or he can't simply put. From my understanding it was maturity issues that dropped his draft stock not his ability or his 40 time... Parker LOL that is a force... he's never been fast.
