Gonzo and Duggar did not know how to switch and gave up an easy touchdown. Neither is a rookie. Bad preparation.

Multiple penalites that could be avoided.

Lots of contain defense. Very little pressure on Geno Smith. Again that is the defensive game plan. Way too conservative - no exotic blitzes. Managed the game into a loss. The defense has a lot of veterans so complex early season game plans should be possible.

Conservative defense led to the field goal right before halftime that could have been avoided.

Pass play on 3rd and 2 or 3 around the 20, and Brissett dropped back to pass and gets sacked. We missed the fieldgoal. Mayo could have discussed the play like we are used to seeing on the Pats sideline.
Metcalf is an Elite Player nuff said! they have Three Very Good WR's who work off each other. Did you see how many passes Geno completed to his WR's?? We only completed a measley one pass embarrassing.

Can't understand why we didn't just stick with was was working..
I mean, yes.

However, like, I get the thinking at least, cross them up, you want to score a TD there and end the game. Yes. I get it. But when you physically cannot throw the ball from any scheme, then yes, I can't understand why he chose then to be tricky.

Fair enough, I suppose, though most of these issues, I think, are more attributable to the assistant coaches - OC and DC - or to the players than to Mayo personally. Mayo himself said he takes responsibility, so I guess he would agree with you. As for me, I saw nothing really egregious: just the predictable quibbles and second guesses one might levy at any HC in a losing effort. If such issues persist, I might come over to your side, but not yet.
Whenever major decisions are made by Mayo's assistant coaches he should be stepping in and confirming or directing the decision.

All the Patriots are doing right now with this Brissett lead offense is showing receivers why you don't want to play for them, who wants to join a team throwing for about 130 yards a game.

Aiyuk was right to turn down the money to watch his career go down the tubes getting 2 balls for 15 yards a week.

That's more than Pop Douglas has in 2 weeks.

Right. We just lined up and ran off tackle and gibby has that great run. I was sure we would score.

Metcalf had one busted play he scored on when Bentley went out. Communication breakdown otherwise gonzo locked him up. Gino made all his plays across the middle Smith-Njigba. Jacoby I'm convinced is hurt.. you see him grab his knee? But yeah... I'd take anyone of thier WR'S... no time to throw or reach Tyquan. The only way this offense can become vertical is with Drake. IMO.

Agreed. But even when Brissett has time he does not find a WR. Some mental block with Jacoby.
I can count on one hand in 50+ pass attempts he's had actual time to throw, where he didn't have to break the pocket.

I mean - no, of course there was no separation. You have less than 2 seconds to throw on every single pass play - there's no time for Usain Bolt to separate.

Man beaters, zone beaters, slot option routes, hell, even bubble screens at this point, are nearly impossible to throw when you are pressured immediately on every single drop back. You can't run play action. You can't take deep shots. Hell, you can't even run screens. You can get running backs sprinting out on arrow routes, or having Hunter Henry watching the QB, and not running actual routes, to get open when Brissett breaks the pocket. That's your passing game right now. And it's not going to get fixed unless they manage to pull off a trade.
I think its insane and inexcusable that Wolf put together an entire offensive line of guards. What exactly did he expect to happen? Crazy.

Indeed. We could have signed Marvin Harrison Jr (as some wanted on here) and he'd be getting 1 target a game. In other news, if we'd somehow managed to draft Jayden Daniels (as some wanted on here) we'd still be starting Brisset.

Defenses are not afraid of Brisset. He cant thread the needle in tight coverage which is when the WR/TE/RB is open when they break their route. In the NFL single coverage is open.

Stop the Pats run and stop the Pats offense. Brisset is a Game Manager.

Reiss was just on Toucher and Hardy- said he watched the all 22 and receivers got no separation. No surprise that was obvious just watching the game…

So- right now Wolf looks like a disaster. O line we have a much of guards and no tackles. WR there is still time for Polk and Baker but Polk looks slow and Baker can’t get on the field.

AVP- again still time- BUT where are the man beaters that Josh excelled at? Play action should def be there especially against zone. Even in 3rd down.

Next week should’ve interesting.
That's horse **** you put the ball where only your receivers can get it. Brissett like me and you would look a world beater if he's throwing to wide open guys. Brissett Can't Make all the Throws which limits an Offense the Jets are going to feast on us.

Can't understand why we didn't just stick with was was working..
If Brissett puts up another well under 200yds game you gotta think Maye time is soon at hand. You can't fool NFL Defenses with Game Managers Today.
