NFL GAME DAY DISCUSSION Week 1 "Other Games" Thread

There's no better way to start the season (unless you're a Tankhead) than seeing the Pats win and the Ratbirds and Indiots lose. I bet those teams' fans felt deflated.

Did anyone see the Titans game? What happened to their QB? He looked okay in the first half and then turned into bad Carson Wentz in the second half.

My assessment is the Jets seemed content on the run they miscalculated with Mcaffre being out. If a team really wants to stop the run they will. This was a game the Jets should have won.. Aiyuk was a non factor. They let the running back get going and they let Deebo get going. Personally I believe the eagles are the most all all round dangerous offense in the NFC, then I'd go Detroit then SF.
If Barkley stays healthy the Eagles are certainly dangerous. Detroit is too hot and cold for me. Sun God has a tendency to disappear in games.

What impressed me about the 9ers was the line. Jordan Mason had pretty big holes opened up for him all day. Yes, you could commit to stopping the run with 8 in the box, but you're asking those other 3 to cover Aiyuk, Deebo, and Kittle on islands with a QB who excels when he has time.

If CMC can get healthy the 9ers will remain the best NFC team for me until someone shows otherwise. One week in the books, we'll see!

Maybe the national media will stop calling Brady a hater when he questions the play/development of the current QB crop. There is more than one reason why Mahomes is nigh unbeatable, and one of them is the QB play from the rest of the league.
NFL offenses are needlessly complex. Look at all these players that can’t hit a basic 5-8 yard timing route and can only freelance a 30+ yarder.

That just is CMC, has a concerning calf injury.. and it bares watching becuase those can be long term things.. Deebo has never been a straightforward speed guy.. he gets open off gadget plays and plays out the backfield.. the 9ners are absolutely a great team. What I've seen on Purdy is when teams take away CMC.. and pressure him he is prone to mistakes trying to make a play. That guy is probably the most boring winningest starting QB ever LOL..

I noticed rookie Dominic Puni started at RG for them; don’t know if that was due to Jon Feliciano’s injury or his winning the job out-right in camp… I liked Puni during the draft process as somebody who might have 4-position versatility because of his physical & athletic profiles… Still not a huge fan of their C & RT however.

Looking ahead to when we see the nina's... I believe shutting down the run early.. making Purdy boy hold the ball longer.. gonzo locks up ayuik.. Hawkins on kittle.. if Deebo wants to play running back peppers and Dugger can Punish him over the middle.. will be a big game for the safeties.

Part of their o line are pretty much no names or average at best with both eyes closed but they execute very well, are well coached and have good play designs. With their constant motion bunch formations and shifts they create confusion for the defense which needs good communication to adjust.

I caught up with some of the Cardinals-Bills game last week, Marvin Harrison Jr looked so slow.

Forget the stats i hope he was carrying some kind of knock cause he didn't look like the kind of athlete you expect a top 5 pick to be at WR in 2024.
