Agree. On defense yes we know who we don't have judon and Barmore right now. So my assessment is on the guys we do have. What also helps is having McMillan back that guy can play all LB spots, he can play weak side , strong side, he's excellent against the run as well.

If he can remain healthy he can be a force for us. Uche is going to have to show up. He likely will be a starter.. he needs to use his speed to get around tackles and put heat on the passer. I'm not worried about the edge Jennings and Ximmenes set the edge well. Won't be easy this season but we can be a solid defense this year.
We are a solid Defense as long as we are healthy. Yes, we are counting on Pharma stepping up, at least until Barmore is back.

Oh we are?? without Judon and Barmore I'm waiting to see it.

Double up Higgins and this game will be interesting.

Double Higgins, don't turn the ball over, and get a bit of luck with a kick return or timely pick, and this game could go either way. The monkey wrench (as it might be all season), is that the OL needs to at least be simply below-average, as opposed to disastrous. If they still can't line up and keep committing penalties, I'm not sure anything else is going to matter in this game.

They have a Rookie WR who they really like Jermaine Burton and the Bengals have done very well Drafting WR's. Burrow will let us know how good he is also Second year man from Princeton Andrei Losivas is ready to make that jump. That said I was really high on this Purdue kid Charlie Jones in the 23 Draft he reminds me of Welker - Amendola and Edelman very similar game. Again Burrow is Great he can beat you in many ways.

I'm glad you bolded the names, because otherwise I wouldn't have noticed them in the three line post you made.

How is the 32nd Ranked Team playing such a daunting schedule??
Krafty Bob not cutting the checks to Goodell and the schedule makers. Note that Lurie's check cleared. Top team last year and they have a cake schedule... It's not luck. They schedule makers decide on when teams play. Days of rest. Times etc. Those have a huge impact on the strength of schedule.

Agreed. I made that assessment without Barmore of course. I'm looking at we don't stay in the same formation. It designed to make it confusing for offenses.. we will be blitz heavy and I'm ok with that. Uche will need to step up and regain his 2022 form.. we allowed 9.7 yards on the ground

He's still a pocket passer PF2.. statue.. without mixon taking pressure off Burrow he will have to drop back more.. he already has a repaired ACL and don't forget about the lingering elbow issue.

The guys that are dangerous are Higgins and chase. Limit them and live with the other guys. On offense take the ball out JB hands and hand to rham and gibby.. stay in 3rd and short.. hit pop and Henry across the middle.. Bengals are bottom ranked run defense. Control the clock.

I see I see.

And sucked against Good Teams what's your point??
Soon a gonzo went down against Dallas last season dak attacked myles away for a TD.. I'm begging Burrow to throw at him.

If this is sarcasm that I missed, please correct me. But 1) Strength of Schedule is based on previous year's record, and nothing else. 2) That schedule is a formula based on rotating which divisions play each other, so no one can change it. And 3) I think I read the Patriots actually have one of the best schedules in the NFL when it comes to net days rest comparted to opponents. So if that was actually a thing Kraft could buy, seems like he ponied up.

EDIT: I just noticed the graph was based on Vegas odds, so scratch point 1. But the other two still stand, as the schedule is determined via formula and the rest days are actually in the Pats favor this year.

yup, we didn't have that special Defense that has better results against good teams than against weak teams.

My point is that this Defense is a bit better than last year's and I, personally, thought that we had a very good Defense last year.

They really thought out our Schedule too Buffalo twice in three weeks. The Schedule makers are making sure we get the #1 overall this time around at least we'll win Draft day.

Did I read right that we have a much tougher schedule than the jets. How is that possible?

Is it more than we play them twice and they play us twice?

I saw a Potentially Very Good Defense with Judon - Barmore and Gonzo minus the Top 2 and you're optimistic. Who's the LB or D-Lineman that can beat his man consistently like Judon?? That's where you lost me: our New D minus those two could make a CB like Gonzo look average he can't cover forever no CB can.

That, plus if it's based on projected win totals, the last place teams we play from other divisions (Bengals, Chargers, Bears) might be projected to be better than last year, versus the Jets third place opponents (Denver, Pittsburgh, Minnesota).
