I read it as Jacoby is the QB1 for week 1 and that's the plan. And they're 100% open to Maye wrecking that plan and forcing his way to the top of the depth chart in the next couple of weeks.

WOW. Playing LOOSE with your definition of "taken third". Josh Allen was the 7th overall pick in 2018. DeShaun Watson was the 12th overall pick in 2017. Justin Hebert was the 6th over-all pick.
