Mafi is terrible, especially where we need help: backup center. Mafi is simply on the outside looking in.

I have IOL FA1 and IOL FA2 both ahead of Mafi.

Mafi should easily make our Taxi squad...Lowe Blow too.

In my defense, the dude does play as if he has VD…

Full disclosure: I didn’t mind the trade for him; he was drafted in the 6th round of 2022, and Bill gave the Vikings a 6th for him, so the compensation was fair… He also had something like FIFTY starts at LT for Illinois, so the D1 college experience was definitely there too… But he’s just not athletic enough to stay at LT in the pros; as a Swing Tackle maybe, but he cannot - Must Not - be our Opening Day starter there.

Besides, I thought the plan was to have Chucky, Mister Anderson & Wallace take all the LT snaps and may the best man - or least sucky of them - win, no…?

That was my thought as well but rt became a need with onwenu moving to rg. My hope is robinson can take over rg and then wallace/chuks battle it out at LT

The story so far of Eliot’s stated goal of Chuks Okorafor at LT isn’t panning out. I wish I knew why that is. I’m guessing it’s his attitude. He doesn’t want the hassle of switching sides.

So Varissian Lowe is Plan B. He is okay. Excellent length. Good power. But his leaden feet means he cheats with speed rushers and sometimes loses his inside-out proper technique. Captain Stone is correct. He’s got everything going for him except the quick feet.

Wallace is clearly the better athlete and thus the better prospect. Anderson still recovering from malaria?

Without strong play from the blindside, it will delay Maye being the starter and put serious consideration of keeping Zappe aboard in case Brissett goes down.

That means four QBs on the roster.

Rare but not unprecedented.
