Maye with poor blocking will be Andrew Luck, a bright spark extinguished too quickly due to injuries.

That's why I think they are looking at this as a two-year project. The tackles will come next year. Maybe the first two picks.

Maye's not ready and won't play much until maybe the end of the year. I don't think he gets the nod even if Jacoby is hurt.

It makes sense if you view this that it generally takes a WR a year or two longer to develop than a tackle. They thought Maye was a year away anyway, so they grabbed WR's who maybe they liked better than the tackles. The jury is still out on their evaluation.

I'm not sold either, but you are too quick to jump on this IMO. It's all about Maye's development anyway, and there are several examples of this strategy working with QB's.

There were players available… this is just plain wrong.

Don’t sign Chuks or Michael Jordan, sign Oli Udoh, Yosh Nijman and Andrus Peat instead… all similarly priced.

Draft Patrick Paul or Kingsley Sumiata in the second instead of Polk.

Instantly the line is fixed and the only
thing different is a couple million more spent in guaranteed money… chicken feed. They even could have used the Wallace pick to trade back up and take Polk.

They signed and relied on bad players, they screwed up.
I am not a believer in PFF scores but using them for all players makes if a fair comparison.

Udoh played 45 snaps last year and gave up 1 sack, PFF rated him at 52.4.
Yosh played 230 had 2 penalties and allowed 2 sacks, rated 61.7
Peat 809 snaps had 6 penalties and allowed 2 sacks, rated 60.2
Okorafor 430 snaps8 penalties and 2 sacks, rated 60.4.

I put that up there to say that declaring any of them "fix" the OL is a stretch.
I'll give you that Patrick Paul might have been a better selection than Wallace. I prefered Blake Fisher but he played RT only the last 2 years.
Patrick Paul Played 777 snaps at LT and rated by PFF at 81.1 allowed 1 sack
Kingsley 664 snaps at LT, rated 67.5 allowed 2 sacks
Wallace 668 @ RT, rated 68.8 allowed 1 sack

PFF player grades are toilet paper… worthless.

There’s no reason or excuse for signing bad players.
