This place has been especially negative since the joint practice. They may have looked "disastrous" based on reports, but remember that it was practice - we have no idea what they were focusing on that day. We'll get a better idea on how they match up during the game today, and we'll have a chance to see it with our own eyes. I don't think the OL is going to look nearly as bad today as people expect. I firmly believe we should see a more watchable product this year than either of the past two years.

To balance out the negativity, here are some positives that I see:
1) OL looked decent against admittedly bad competition last week.
2) Defense looked strong last week and through camp. At this point, it doesn't seem like they will fall off drastically without BB.
3) Maye = Hope. Half the teams in the league don't have QB's they can be excited about. We do.
4) WR's have looked good in camp. Although lacking in top level talent, we seem to have pretty good depth at the position.
5) I like what I've seen out of the front office and Mayo so far. I know that isn't a universal opinion, but I'm on board with all the moves they've made so far. They've also avoided desperation moves and are in a healthy financial situation to continue rebuilding the team over the next 2 years.

Maye playing two quick three and out series valuable experience right there.

I want to see Joe Milton play again love his cannon arm.

We are NOT spending $40M to improve the 2024 team. We MIGHT have done this if the cap hadn't been so expanded. In any case, we should be a major player in 2025.

As an aside, I expect that we will continue to explore possible trades for players that will help in 2025-2027.

There are two tracks. Develop Maye and build around him for 2025-2027 and beyond. This year isn't a voluntary TANK. That is a poster fantasy. However, it is a transition into the 2025-2027 Maye-led playoff runs.

Maye and Gonzo for me.

This team will miss Barmore 5x more than it will miss Judon. It's Barmore who is going to hurt. But the defense will have to blitz more to offset the loss.

Hoping to see more of Maye and more of the "starting" OL. Good or bad results, I want some meat to dig into on both.

On defense, I want to see at least some sign that there are some 1-on-1 winners in pass rush situations. Doesn't have to be constant pressure, but seeing someone like Uche, White, Jennings, Wise, or Ximenez have a clear win or two would at least give us something to chew on going into the season.

Finally, I want to see some progress in the procedural stuff. Doesn't have to be perfect, just fewer false starts, delay of games, and last second timeouts with 0 on the playclock. Movement in a positive direction there would be a good sign.

1. Drake Maye playing football
2. Polk and Baker
3. Semi-competent O-line play

the ONLY thing that matters - the OL

the rest is just noise.

Toughest defensive front in the NFL. Can they block them? Even a little bit?

Per Breer, Maye is supposed to play more tonight so looking forward to that.

1. Philly to play it’s starters so we can can get a real evaluation of our starters. ( I heard on the radio they probably won’t).
2. May to actually play at least a quarter.
3. O-Line. Can they block Philly’s D-Line.
4. Uche, Jennings and White.

I want to see Maye play. What I don't want to see is him dumping it off to the flat because the OL is so bad. This will be a big red on the season if this happens.
