Admittedly the probability is low, nearing zero of the results on the field don't get better. There are two situations that may create opportunity. I definitely don't hope someone gets injured. Unfortunately they happen and would cause a team to take action. The other is a team looking at him as a depth piece that fits a niche in their offense.
If I had to bet, I would guess that he gets released. He has had long enough to heal and still looks limited. Like him or not, he has been productive for most of his career. I understand the fake it to make it part of getting the contract, how the player dealt with things seem a little weird if he had a severe injury. His public persona suggests that he isn't the kind of person who was as committed to recovery as he could have been. It is getting to being sad. Hopefully he can figure it out.
