Maye shows improvement, Brisket still expected to start

It'll be a great sign if the Pats start Maye right away. That'll mean that the Pats have a QB.
Seems like more people especially locally are starting to feel the way we do. I firmly believe the time is now. Let him play, think of this any polished plumber, carpenter, electrician that's successful didn't learn by just watching they learned by doing the job!

Absolutely. The collaboration as Curran mentioned had more to do with the drafting.. Bill was still the GM and had full control of everything basically the roster, the staff. I know we still have games to play and time will tell.. but I like the vibe and aurua around the team. I expect Drake to start!
Honestly I think he will be starting day 1 by showing everyone who matters that he’s ready. May even be playing behind a porous line but he will survive. Actually looking forward to watching games this year lol.

Yes! I just believe Drake is destined to become great.. he just feels like he will be for sure.. oh lol don't remind me.. I've neve turned away from so many games like I did last season. Was more interesting watching the defense. Lol

We're going to find out and that's exciting. If he works out it'll be the Pats first real QB since Brady. The only worry I'll have then will be when they play Pittsburgh. They like to try and end QB's careers. It worked with Palmer but not Brady

And now a song to celebrate the hundreds of posts about BB that I've had to spin past. Sung to the tune Graduation Day, by The Lettermen.

It's a time for joy
a time for tears
a time we'll treasure through the years
We'll remember always
Collaboration day

I'm old enough to remember the Lettermen. Yikes! They began singing a long time ago in the late 50's early 60's I think.

I don't know if it's a meaningful indicator, Mac Jones was supposed to sit and started day 1. Many high drafted QB's start that are not any good like Bryce Young, Jayden Daniels.

I have ZERO concerns. Maye is going to be great regardless of when he starts. IMO as long as he stays healthy, we have 15+ years to watch one of the NFL's best QB's.

The Pats have a rough schedule out of the gate. When they start out 0-4, the Maye chants will get very loud. I have a feeling sports talk and the boards will be asking if Mayo for Bill was a mistake?
They've been 1-3 out the gates 3 years in a row, so it'd only be a slight drop off.

I always found the word collaboration to be great to use in interviews. If I ever get stuck on a question I just start saying collaboration and some other random things. And its worked quite often

That is proper logic.

Agree. Although I'll give young some more time as He's in a terrible situation with that ownership. Maye absolutely is Destined for greatness. Our ownership is running an organization and a business a they are used to having prime time games. Drake gives us that. Playing is the best way a young QB can become great.

Based on what?
BB willing to go another season running Cam's patented "QB sneak/Bounce Pass offense?

I think he means Mac was supposed to learn behind on the notion of him being a veteran.. but the NFL doesn't really work like that.. QBs need to play.. guys don't lean anything by standing on the sideline..

I like and agree with most of your posts.
But I can't agree that they "don't learn anything standing on the sidelines"

Thank you. As I also like and agree with many of yours as well. Let me explain my statement. For QBs everything is repetition for them, they need to be In game scenarios, feeling the rush, the stakes, down and distance, what the defense is doing, how the safety is playing them, the MIKE LB, how the line is blocking. Things like that. So standing on the sidelines gives you none of that. So if a team chose to play a QB that what he gains in-game experience.

@sb1

Just thought I'd mention for the sake of argument. Curran mentioned on WEEI that Drake would have to beat out Brissett and there would need to be an Injury for him to start. As highly as I think of Curran I have to disagree. I believe Drake will be starting.

Based on the similar pre-training camp reports that Newton was the starter just like Brissett is the starter

Hoyer is on a 0-17 losing streak as a starter despite spending years on the sideline "learning".

That's correct!! QBs want to play.. they don't want to be holding the clip board. For example cassel said he learned from the best.. but whenever he went in for mop up duties prior to him taking over in 2008 he said he was like a deer in the headlights because of the speed of the game in live action. He was saying Josh would just call run plays because he didn't want him to get hit. If Drake wins convincingly.. I believe he starts.

I get the excitement with Drake. I too am excited
Until I know the OLine is gelling. I do not want him anywhere near that line of scrimmage
Yes QB’s want to play. They need the in game experience
He is 21. He’ll get plenty.
The best way to destroy a player is by getting him killed. Physically and Mentally
I want him playing by years end. Not right away

Wolfe has pretty much followed GB’s way of structuring a team
Sign your own players first etc
Another GB way is sitting your rookie QB and ease him in
Let him learn and see NFL football before throwing him to the wolves
QB’s have been successful playing and sitting their first year
Just a different take

d%#*!@t all, I don't want to be jinxing myself and **** but I vaguely think I felt this way when they took Mac and he was going to fight for it. If the same **** happens with Drake that happened with Mac, heads will roll and many people here will be hitting the sauce or something harder. I don't think he's going to bomb though. My fingers are crossed....along with pubes, balls, eyes, and everything that can be crossed....damn I'm bored.

destined?

**** that. He has to work for it, He has to earn it.

"Destiny" is just pie in the sky BS.
