I agree, it’s a players game. A team can look extremely bad if QB play is bad… see the Pats.

Considering the collaboration station re-signed every single priority free agent, it’s clear they agreed this team wasn’t as bad as it looked and Mac was a big part of the problem.
4-13

They were every bit as bad as they looked.

Defense was 5th fewest in points allowed, 4th best in scoring percentage.

You don’t understand football, which is odd because in any other thread you’d be posting about the magical ability of QB’s.

As usual your posts follow no logic or reasoning, it’s all feelings and “BB sucks no matter what” bias. Nobody can take you seriously.

Blown out in two games by a combined 72-3 score. Had no answer for the Jets or Miami in their second games. One of the worst teams in the league at getting turnovers. They weren't a good defense.

4-13 teams just suck. There's no silver lining about them anywhere.

Well. If we had hit on out offensive drafted players outside of rham and ownenu.. we would be much better off and Bill would get his wins record and ride off into the sunset with a functioning offensive unit only Dugger wouldn't be here, becuase we know how bills strategy was. Please don't think I'm dumping on him.. we have 23 season to use as evidence.

The Patriot offense turned it over 6 times in those two games and couldn’t score. To say you don’t understand football is a massive understatement.

JimmyG turned the entire 49ers offense around to end the 2017 season. Bad QB play (CJ Beathard/Hoyer) is why that team was 1-10, better QB play is how they ended the season with 5 straight wins and doubled their offensive points per game.

Learn the game…

Blame the collaboration, Mac was the biggest problem. You miss on the QB position and that’s enough to get you fired. Andy Reid missed on Kevin Kolb and it got him fired in Philadelphia. It happens…

Well there was GM paid 25 million a season to make the picks.. I'm pretty certain that's how most organizations work. True that did happen with Reid. But he wasn't the GM. All organizations as Bill mouth piece Lombardi said have collaboration look at the recent hard knocks with the giants. The owner, the GMs the scouts, everyone is involved.

You can't only take credit for success you have to take it all in stride. Not just Bill but every organization. Without the players as I've said the coach doesn't make a difference.. Landry, Lombardi altogether before my time.. those guys had players. Walsh, Gibbs, so on and so on..

Can't blame the offense for the defense being bottom 6 in the league in sacks, bottom 9 in takeaways and allowing almost 200 yards rushing to the Dolphins (twice) and Jets . They were not good.

4-13 teams aren't good at anything. They suck.

The bottom line is this. If who was playing QB was the only problem with the offense then benching Jones would have made a major difference for the better in the offense. That didn't happen. They got worse. That's what bad teams do.

IMO, the continuous use of term "Collaboration" as a pejorative is complete ********!

I don't know of any Major Corporation or NFL Team that does not have a board of directors, advisors, scouts or whatever you want to call them. The purpose of these collaborations is to offer advise and suggestions to the CEO or General Manager to help create or maintain the best product possible.

The CEO or Coach gathers all the information from all sources (with probably more weight given to sources that have been more right than wrong). The CEO or GM then makes what he or she believes is the best decision for the business or the team. If the decision is a good one the CEO or GM is treated with admiration. If the decision is bad then not so much. If too many bad decisions are made then the CEO or Coach is terminated.

People are gonna take their shots no matter what… Everyone knows this is how things have always worked. Maybe a little different without Vader on top of it all…

Again… you’re clueless. Pass rush is more effective when opposing teams have to pass, when you have an offense pressuring opponents to score by matching their best. When the Patriots offense can only go 3 and out there is zero need to pass deep or pressure to pass at all.

This is only true if they had a good QB sitting on the bench. By 2023 the entire offense was a disaster, coaches teaching schemes for different systems, owners inserting themselves where they didn’t belong… but ultimately Mac sucking and the owner insisting he play was the biggest problem.

Collaboration when everyone is onboard and rowing in the same direction is great.

Collaboration when senior shareholders are pushing an agenda opposite of the senior managers is a disaster. Infighting is never a good thing.

I've been one of the most positive posters here regarding the new regimes moves in the offseason and their outlook for 2024.

Nobody used collaboration as a pejorative. There is peace and harmony now, the last few years not so much.

Good defenses aren't ranked near the bottom of the league in either of those categories. Good defenses also can stop the run and this defense could not. Good defenses also aren't ranked 31st in the league in time of possession allowed.

It's ok to admit that the 2023 Patriots sucked everywhere...because they did. The QB was a problem but he was far from the only problem. 4-13 doesn't lie.

As is the case for most 4-13 teams coaching was the biggest problem. Bad special teams, undisciplined play and regression as the season went on is a coaching problem. Well coached teams aren't clown stomped in two games 72-3.

Hahahahaha!!!

In 2023 the Patriot's defense ranked #1 in the entire NFL in fewest yards per rushing attempt at 3.3 yards per carry. They ranked 4th in the entire NFL in fewest rushing yards allowed per game at 93.2 yards per game, and total rushing yards.

They ranked 9th for the most rushing attempts against them... why?

Oh yeah, because the Patriot offense was dead last in the NFL, so opponents had the ball more.

Boy when you say some stupid sht, you don't do it halfway... you cover yourself in kerosene, light yourself on fire and take a flaming swan dive off a 100 foot tall ladder.

You don't understand basic fundamental football... stop talking so much. At least stop following me around and spamming the board, nobody else wants to read the vomit that spills from your keyboard and have you repeat wrong information over and over again. Put me on ignore, I'm fighting every urge not to be insulting.

^^^ this is why boxscore and stats reading isn't serious football analysis. No boxscore will tell you they lost 4 games specifically because they couldn't stop the run very well.

Bottom line: The whole team sucked from top to bottom not just the QB. And that includes the head coach. I know that triggers you but that's your problem not mine. Blame him.

Buddy... you just said something patently untrue, utterly false.... WRONG!!!!

Now you're pretending there is some universe where facts don't matter and you are correct.

There's a word for people like you...

Is that what you wore when you kept telling us how awesome zappy smurf was and to be here after the Chargers game... and you didn't show up to take your medicine after your boy got skunked by the worst defense in the league.

Seems appropriate.
