RUMOR: Patriots and Judon not close on deal

Which came before the article that I posted.

But unlike what you posted contained an actual quote from Judon himself. smdh

Considering what the defense did last year without Judon AND Gonzalez, it's actually a good one. If you gave White the snaps that normally were going to Judon, I think that the defense would be excellent with Gonzalez on the field. But I seem to have higher opinions of the defense than most "fans".
We won Four Games c'mon we didn't have the Steel Curtain. That said just think how Great we could be with Judon and Gonzo. Pass Rushers like Judon can still play effective up to 35.

I like Judon. He's probably the best skill position player on this team right now.

That said, he's on the wrong side of 30 and I wouldn't mind if the Pats moved on from him and drafted someone younger. If he can find someone who will pay him next year, more power to him. He wouldn't be the first player to leave a team to take more money elsewhere. Plus maybe he can go someplace where he won't have to pay MA's crazy millionaire's tax.
Yeah.. your right.. those crazy millionaire taxes.. I Don't think judon can live off what he's left with.. you think 7 million is enough for someone to live off? Boy...

I like Judon, though he tends to disappear when it matters. He's also better than some 4th or 5th round pick. I'd let him see what's out there and match it if it makes sense.
What about developing our own guys? Our own # 1s in polk and baker.. our own franchise QB and LT.. I'm sorry.. but I feel much more confident in wolf's ability to identify talent.

That's been the problem last several years.. not drafting and development of guys.. offensive skill positions.. Douglas fell to us undrafted..

Yeah, I have no problem with Wolf drafting and developing talent, but I don't think we drafted an OLB so if we trade Judon, who do we have? Just because we didn't draft him doesn't mean we have to get rid of him.

When he's on the field, he's been the most entertaining part of watching Patriots games for the past three years or so. And that's probably saying more about how blah nearly every other player has been. Without Judon, listening to Patriots game on the radio would probably suffice since there would be so little to see.

(I present no opinion on his pay or if he should be traded.

And, sorry for such glum post.)

He was a 6th round pick, but I get your point. We can't expect results getting good skill players at the WR position when it has been neglected over the years.

Your right, for some reason I keep thinking DD was undrafted. Thank you for the clarity. Yes, your right. I'm sure that past regime attempted to address the position, but it's just so egregious that we are likely the only organization that can't develop WRs.. branch, edleman, Douglas, Mitchell.. that's 4 WRs in what 20 plus seasons. We'll see how polk and baker do.

Watching the hard knocks on the giant's what I've noticed is the relationship between Shcein and dabol. They seem to have a great relationship. So what I believe is with Mayo and wolf as wolf had said they have a wonderful relationship as well. Is that they both were likely all in on the QB and offense centric this draft. Next draft I can bet you it's going to be more balanced.

In football to simply put it.. you still have to be able to run the ball, and stop it. The teams that do that typically win.. so I believe mayo was all I to extend rham.. he knows he'll need to lean on him especially in the AVP offense to help the QB.

If they keep double dipping or drafting at least one WR like they did in the early and mid rounds, they have a better chance of landing a stud WR.

Yes. Not rehashing.. but was bill really going to deviate from his draft strategy. Likely not. So I like the new ideas and new approach. You have to go after the talented guys and develop them as pros in your system. Sure nothing wrong with try hards.. but they don't have a long NFL career trajectory. Right now I'm really high on what polk and baker can be. They don't have alot of pressure becuase we have vets. Kj ,KB and juju to help them acclimate. If Thornton gives anything At all would we welcomed.

Sure, a 2nd and 4th again next year and we'll have five kids, the youngest groups of WR's in the NFL. I suppose we'd cay 6, including signing a $25M #1, but why carry 6, just hope that you can develop one of the five.

I DO NOT see us drafting WR before the 5th in 2025. We'll have the new top WR, Douglas, Polk, Baker, and Bourne. We might even have Schuster or Osborne.

Don't forget Higgins will be available as well he signed his tender according to his people as he doesn't want to be a distraction.. his cheap owner will have to sign chase so I think Higgins comes to us next season.. just my opinion. Imagine having polk and baker, KB, KJ and Higgins.. with cannon arm Drake.

I expect that we will have the equivalent in 2025 when we sign our #1 WR.

I also think next off season wolf/mayo will have a more balanced draft.. I can see us taking some LBs, DL, .
Having to spend basically the entire draft on one side of the ball is not normal, this year was an anomaly. If the Pats need to do it again next year Wolf will be feeling the heat.

Agreed wolf even said he and Mayo spoke and Mayo understood thar basically the draft was about the QB and addressing the offense... had we had prior drafts work out we'd had been in much better shape offensively.. to your point it's important we see Drake, Polk and baker play this season.. the sooner the better. I'm not as much worried about the line as many make it appear..the best 5 OL will play. Coaching also on the O line projects to be much better as well.
