We could have drafted a LT who might have started in 2025

Wozzy you'll see first hand how important the WR Position is our First Six games: we are playing some of the Best WR's the League.

Chase and Higgins

Metcalf and Smith-Njigba

Garrett Wilson and *Mike Williams* if healthy

Deebo and *Aiyuk*

Hill and Waddle *Ps I'm not even counting their 3rd WR have mercy*

Nico Collins and Diggs *Ps I'm not even counting their 3rd WR have mercy*
Gonzalez held Tyreek Hill to his worst statistical output last season... I think you should concern yourself more with the Patriot QB position and offensive line... where the last couple years were actually lost.

If it wasn't for Brady Twice Mahomes would have Five Rings by now remember his last SB win here then with Tampa. Don't let this FACT escape you Mahomes is Brady Great yeah I said it he's the closest QB I have seen to Brady he just Wins. Though some of you Patsfans just hate to admit it he lost his Best OT in FA 2023 Orlando Brown and went on to Repeat. Regarding the Dolphins Injuries played a part in them fading down the stretch we'll see this year.
If it wasn't for Mahomes defense sucking and the Patriot's defense sacking him 4 times in 2018 he might have advanced... Brady didn't defend a single Mahomes pass. Then the Tampa D sacked him 3 times and picked him off twice, Brady didn't make a single defensive play in that game either.

If I have to teach you the difference between offense and defense... this conversation will go nowhere.

This was considered one of three better & deeper wr classes of the last decade. You really have no idea what you're talking about. You have a very black & white pov on things and I've noticed you keep repeating the same things.
To each their own but there are some things you can't argue with. You're extremely off on the wr position. You make it seem like you're a fantasy football nerd if you bring up the position.
If Polk becomes a super weapon I'll be sure to come back to this thread and tell you I was wrong and you were right.

You have the reading comprehension of a squirrel.

Luck and Burrow are/were great QBs. They also take/took unnecessary hits trying to do to much.

That's one comment Brady has made on how important it is to learn how to avoid and take hits. It's much better to take an incomplete on or gentle sack as opposed to hurting yourself trying to make a great play
Their lines sucked, annually ranked among the worst, made up of castoffs from other teams... but you want us to ignore all that and pretend it made no difference... they just couldn't stop people from hitting them.

I believe Brady has comments on both avoiding taking hit as well as taking hits. He discussed how he would turn his body and have it go limp, and also fall to the ground a certain way. he had getting hit down to a science
When Brady's line's stunk he got the snot kicked out of him just like everyone else, all the avocado ice cream in the world didn't save him. Give us a break...

QB play = bartering

You accept pressure that might result in sacks or INT for explosive plays-TD/ypa etc Brady, Manning, Young were all "old god-tier" at one point or another for long stretches. Brady moreso but the others peak were insane.

It's all a trade off. Some guys will accept pressure consciously regardless of their OL. That's why many say sacks are a QB stat. Like Russell Wilson and D Watson, two guys known for eating sacks & bad OL. Have shown that the better the OL they have the more risk they'll take. That's a conscious decision on thei part. Give them the best OL in the league and both will still take sacks.

We should've never got rid of the barter system. It was all downhill from their. Hopefully @Wozzy picking this up. I'm trying to help the poor guy
If you don't understand how Brady's offensive lines from 2001-2004 were better by far than Burrows over his first four years then your evaluation process stinks and you need to help yourself.

And Waddle went off what's your point?? We still lost the game, and FTR: I hope Maye starts I want nothing to do with Biscuit that's been my Mo I would take Jump ball Joe over Biscuit 24/7.

The Dolphins have two superweapon WR’s and have been bounced in the wildcard round of the playoffs two years in a row… by actual good teams. That’s not the flex you think it is…

The Miami Dolphins have a terrific roster pretty much everywhere. Their off-season acquisitions and re-signings addressed their needs. They look look like the AFC team to beat this year. I like them to get to the Super Bowl barring key players getting injured.

It's a good year for them to take that next step - KC took a step back aided by ridiculous contracts, the Bills are weaker at several positions, the Ravens can't be trusted for whatever reason, the Texans are close but not elite. Lots of good, not elite AFC teams to contend with, but the Dolphins look complete to me.

If Tua plays like a top 10 QB, then MIA should be a favorite to go deep into the playoffs.

Yup. We could have drafted a LT instead of Polk who might have started next year, or not.

We might have drafted an OT at 68 who might have been a solid backup in 2025.

Instead, we drafted our choice of WR (Polk) and Wallace who is likely to be an OT starter THIS YEAR, and who might compete to start at LT in 2025.

I dont follow other teams anywhere near as much as i used to so i could be wrong but didnt they just lose thier best defender to FA? Tight against the cap due to Hill and Waddle? Have to pay Tua? O line is pretty weak so Tua has to get it out in 2.3 seconds?

They are fast and explosive for sure but hardly what i would call the team to beat

The Bills are the team to beat in the East until someone takes them out.

No they don’t, the reason they look great against scrubs but terrible against the best teams is their weakness on offensive line. Bad lines don’t travel or do well against playoff caliber defenses.

The Dolphins D also let up the 16th most points per drive last season… far from terrific…. middling at best. They just let their single best young DT walk in free agency because they’re broke paying all those WR’s and now having to pay Tua.

Funny stuff, Jerry Rice predicted the 49ers would beat the Chiefs in the super bowl last season because the Chiefs didn’t have a superweapon WR. Some KC media guys trolled him on a celebrity golf tournament asking if KC had the WR’s to compete now. It went about as well as people here in denial about the magic power of WR’s.

I still don’t understand how he had a job…
He was a waiver wire pickup due to injury midseason, I said at the time there were better options on practice squads out there but many said I was wrong. Brady sustained two injuries and the 2019 season was over.

But OLine is one of those positions anyone can play… laughable.

My thoughts exactly but for the life of me can’t remember who was available at the time. Remember it being a head scratcher since I had never heard of him. I could see him being a camp body but not on the 53. Similar to Wheatley and Lowe now…

People need to forget about fantasy ball when thinking about building a team/winning because it doest mean **** yet people somehow think it does. Games are won and lost in the trenches. Plain and simple.

This thread is almost two months old, but with the regular season starting in a week I thought it needed updating.

Just to be clear, on their official depth charts the NFL champion Chiefs have rookie Kingsley Suamataia starting at left tackle. The Dolphins have Patrick Paul sitting directly behind Terron Armstead when he inevitably gets hurt like he always does.

Meanwhile the Patriots don't have one starting tackle worth a damn. So don't question my draft acumen ever again

I definitely don't like the optics of their draft. Reports they wanted to move up for a WR and then they trade back for a WR. Then they take an OT with stated intentions of trying him at LT. It definitely FEELS like they decided which positions they had to draft and then just went in order. That's a very poor approach and not a good idea for a team that really has needs all over the roster, even if some aren't as glaring as others. Maybe it's just coincidence, but it feels like they had a bad approach after Maye at #3.

That being said, this team had massive holes on their depth chart at QB, WR, OT. That's arguably the 3 most premium positions in the sport and even the rest of the roster isn't in great shape. I was never overly optimistic that they'd be able to check all the boxes this year. So I'm not going to get into the game of being mad that they didn't fill one specific hole. I will judge their draft decisions based on the overall state of the roster. If they just drafted a bunch of JAGs or worse caliber players, then it will be a failure. If they draft a handful of plus starter level players, then it will be a success.

I have a clock I bought in the 70's. I've put a label with your name on it.
